I’ve had Captain Sam’s Chicken before at a different location, but today I stopped by the 8830 Troy St, Spring Valley, CA 91977 spot, and let me tell you—Sam does it best!

I went for the Hot Chicken Sandwich, and from the first bite, I knew I was in for something special. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside—exactly how hot chicken should be. The seasoning had the perfect balance of heat and flavor, making every bite better than the last.

The sauce was unreal—creamy, tangy, and with just the right amount of kick to complement the spice. Add in a soft, fresh bun, and you’ve got a sandwich that’s nothing short of perfection.

Ordered the gizzards and fries. Gizzards have NO seasoning. Guess that's what the hot sauce is for. Didn't request them fried hard because I wanted to see how they fried them on their own. VERY wet and doughy. Had to toss them in the air fryer. Ordered 1 cod and 1 catfish. Catfish was fried okay but the cod was soggy and fell apart when I picked it up. Macaroni salad just doesn't taste right. Missing ingredients or something. Guess I'll toss the cod in the air fryer too. It appears their take out containers...
