Crabby Crabby — Restaurant in California

I had been a loyal customer of Crabby Crabby for the past 2 years. It used to have the best tasting sauce and most fresh live crawfish. The previous owner was a nice Asian lady. But things became different when earlier this year the ownership changed.

About 3 months ago, we started noticing that we had some frozen crawfish blended in our order of live crawfish. Of course we gave them the benefit of doubt and thought maybe it was an accident. I also informed the store about what happened the very next time I went to pick up my order. I asked them to please be careful not mixing them together. But guess what, right after I told them about it, I still found frozen ones in my order that night, and even more than last time.

Since this is the only place close to us that serves Cajun seafood, we kept coming back and just deal with occasional frozen/cheaper crawfish in our orders.

But recently, we found more and more frozen ones and not even once we got 100% live crawfish. Why?? Crabby Crabby?? Why?

Since the portion of frozen crawfish became bigger and bigger, we decided to order just frozen ones. And last night we did.

OMG was that awful!!

We ordered 2lbs of frozen crawfish last night and they looked like they have been sitting in the trash for 3 days. None of it was edible, they smelled and tasted so gross and a lot of them had crushed shells. We ended up throwing them away because we didn't wanna get sick.

I am not sure where the ethics have gone in this place, I used to love it so much, and I really do not understand why they would serve such horrible, non edible food to their customers. Do they even care about the customers?

At this point I am done giving them more chances. I will go ahead and call the food administration and get this place inspected because of their dishonest (mixing live seafood with froze ones), and poor quality of food. I am pretty sure the ones they gave me last night are not meant for human stomachs.

To the owner:

If you are not interested in providing good food, simply don't run...

I'm highly upset that I have to get a ride down to this place of business due to them over cooking a $40 order for delivery. The customer service at this place is ridiculous 🙄 I even agreed just to have them remake and deliver that was the most complicated thing ever including paying for delivery so now I just want a refund on atleast my shrimp mind you I paid extra for eggs,potatoes and $2.10 to cut the heads off the shrimp per their website and the person who took the order. Now they only want to refund $19 of my $40 order . Like damn just refund me for what I paid in total for the shrimp including the extra for the cut off of head. Businesses will do you any kind of way but want you patronize their business. I'm highly disappointed and this is a place that I really like to go....... They have just lost a 13 year customer 😕 Not to mention my bag wasn't sealed and looks as if it was eaten out of before it was delivered to me.... That is a very bad representation of CRABBY CRABBY THAT THE DELIVERY DRIVERS TAMPER WITH YOUR FOOD.. The manager said the additional cost was for the sauce on the shrimp🤦‍♀️ to justify the extra cost that I paid for the shrimp. I paid separately it wasn't a combo... Add On eggs...

This place is small but clean and a great value! I know why the parking lot and dining room were crowded.... the food is great and filling. We ordered fried shrimp, chicken wings, catfish, and a pound of headless shrimp with crabby crabby seasoning. The manager came over and asked if we wanted to sample their gumbo, we did... holy moly... it was delicious!!! My husband, who was already full, could not put the spoon down! My 5yr old said that she had "never had such yummy soup". 😂 The gumbo is not currently a menu item but they are apparently trying it out to see how the customers react... with us being visitors and this having been our first time here, our opinions and compliments were definitely heard but I encourage the locals to demand that the gumbo become a menu staple! The seafood is fresh. The fried items were not overdone. The steamed items were juicy and tender. The music had us singing along and in a great mood. This restaurant is worth the wait to be seated (if and when there is a wait) & worth parking down...
