Danish & Donuts — Restaurant in California

I am so sad to make this review but unfortunately the incredibly rude and disrespectful manner in which myself and family were treated I feel it’s only fair. We made this little donut shop our family tradition after Mass on Sundays. It’s been that way for 2 years. The gentleman who owns the place has always been cordial, never rude but never overly friendly either. This past Sunday we went as usual with our littles and I forgot cash 🤦🏼‍♀️ We asked him to please hold our donuts while we went to get cash while our littles started to cry that we were leaving without their precious donuts. About 20 minutes later I came back, cash in hand and waited in line for 10 minutes only for him to tell me I took too long and he sold our donuts. He was so cold and unapologetic. I asked him why he did that knowing that he knows us after 2 years as being people of our word and that I was disappointed and he shrugged his shoulders and said to “Get over it”. And then walked away. I get it that you have to take care of the customers there ready with cash but there could have been such a more kind way he could have handled it and treated us so much more respectfully. He lost loyal customers along with our family and friends who are choosing to go elsewhere where they will be treated...

Update: it is 9/21 and the shop is closed again for another month. This is the third time this month this shop is closed. You are the only donut place in town! Sunday is donut day for my son and I and this is quite disappointing. Maybe it’s time to hire workers or sell your shop to someone who plans on operating a business.

This shop has great donuts when it’s open, which is why it can be pretty disappointing to drive over only to find the doors closed, especially on weekends when many of us are most excited to stop by. As the only donut shop in town, a little more consistency would go a long way for the community that really wants to support you. Also, running out of donuts by 10 a.m. without plans to make more can be frustrating for customers who made the trip expecting fresh options. We’d love to see you thrive here, but to do that, it feels important to make sure you’re serving the town’s needs...

Listen. So I love donuts and I have a personal standard for how each style of donut should taste.

The donuts at this establishment are far better than any donut I have had back home in Wisconsin. Let's be clear though, the donuts back home are quite exceptional as well but these were on a higher level than anything I've had back home.

The cake donuts were exactly like they SHOULD be. Crisp/almost crunchy on the outside while soft and moist on the inside.

The frosting on the donuts I had while there was definitely made from scratch, it was damn good!

I also had a mocha coffee that was very delicious as well!

Next time we are in Sonoma we will absolutely be making a...
