Since Google has a character limit, I have to shorten this review. I'll try to break it down still.
Price: $32.98 Items: Small Smoothie, Small Fruit Salad, Turkey Torta
Customer service: I tried to call in an order, but their phone wasn't working. I went there in person, the lady at the cashier was brief, but not rude or anything. Note - I review places based off of the quality of food or drink, as I care more about getting a decent meal. I just thought I'd mention it since some reviews have complaints. NA/5 Rating
Atmosphere: The inside is small, and quiet, which is nice.... Except for the fact that there are house flies and... Other small flying insects on the walls and tables. Some on the wall next to my face. I literally moved to a different table because I felt very uncomfortable
When I moved, two showed up on the new table near my arm. It was gross. Note: If you don't believe me, by all means, please go in person and look at it yourself. 0/5
Food + Drink:
Fruit Smoothie - It was certainly more expensive than it is worth, I would say a fair price would be about 5 to 6 bucks. I got the tropical smoothie, which basically just tasted like a mango slush (so sugar + ice). It was fairly good, not $10 good but not bad. I just couldn't recommend it for that price. 3.5/5
Torta - I asked for egg added to it, which I think helped, but I also like eggs so biased here. The quality of ingredients isn't that great, you can make this yourself at home for less, but it's sizable. I'd probably not get this again but I'd say people will probably like it. I'll give it a 4/5, since I'm sure convenience is part of the package
Fruit Salad - I asked for extra mango, and you may notice in the second fruit tray picture that I am showing the bottom of the tray. That sliver is all the mango they ended up giving me, which is.... Okay! Still trying to salvage this and enjoy the meal. Hopefully the rest will still be good, right?
Nope. Probably one of the worst fruit salads I've had. Some of the fruit, like the strawberry and watermelon had a noticeable amount of sliminess. Pineapple was okay. The cantaloupe, mango, banana pieces that I had were noticeably not ripe. The bananas tasted especially bad. I'm saying "noticeably" because there's an extent to which you can tolerate these things. That is not the case here, I was really trying to be lenient here while I was eating. So yeah, paid 10ish bucks for a bowl of fruit I couldn't eat. The smoothie tasted alright, so I'm confused as to why the fruit was all bad. Still, even if fruit wasn't terrible, it's still way too pricey for what you get.
Overall experience: 2 or 3 / 5
Some people probably really like this place a lot, and that's okay! Good for you.
I, however, would not go here again by choice. Food and drinks were either a modest or huge rip off, and the bugs are gross. Seriously, I...
Read moreHonestly this place used to be really really good I would come all the time. But its like they lost their care to make certain things better so that customers could come back. Last time I was there in person, on my lunch break, they completely forgot something from my order. Then when I went to ask if it was almost done (it was a corn cup with butter instead of mayo) the girl didn't even respond she just went to the back to ask someone. So I waited at the register. Another girl finally brings it to me and very sarcastically says "here's your corn cup and I put EXTRA butter in there just like you asked". That honestly made me think she spit in my food or something. When I finally rushed to work to eat it since it took most of my lunch and I have an hour, it wasnt even warm all the way and the corn was super soggy. Mind you I work 2 minutes away.. Today I decided to order tostilocos after not going back there for awhile because my new place was closed and I had a pregnant craving. First off, the size of the jicama that they put in here is ridiculous. I literally had to cut the pieces up myself once it got here. They are drowned in chile like way too much, there aren't any peanuts or chakachaka and we all know that's what makes the tostilocos even more bomb. I'm just disappointed especially because this use to be my favorite place. I hope this helps someone who doesn't wanna be...
Read moreYou ever have one of those mornings where you wake up and you’re just craving a little bit of everything? Well I had a morning like that today, and Extraordinary Fruits was my hero. I went overboard, and got myself an Acai Bowl, French toast, chilequilles, AND a chorizo torta “for my boyfriend”. Gluttonous? Yes. Do I regret it? No way.
Everything was SO delicious! The chilequillies were perfectly coated in their amazing red sauce, and covered with sour cream, a sprinkle of cheese, and avocado, and paired with some mind blowing fried potatoes mixed with chorizo. The French toast was perfectly cooked, not too sweet, very light and buttery, and topped with a generous amount of fresh fruit. Plus, The cinnamon flavor came through in the absolute best way. The chorizo torta was nice and big, and and stuffed with pure goodness. Their chorizo is brilliant, and they way sautee it in with the jalapeño and onion makes it even more wonderful. Fianlly the acai bowl… absolutely THEE best bowl I’ve ever had. While it’s loaded with fresh fruit and other yummy toppings, the acai purée itself is magic to me. I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life and be happy as ever.
I know this was a long review, but honestly, the food was so amazing that I felt compelled to type all of this out. I love this place, and I HIGHLY...
