It was our first time coming to Zad Mediterranean Cuisine. We drove about 25min to get there thinking it would at least be somewhere new. Upon entering you seat yourself, and menus were brought. Like I said we hadn’t been before so when it came time to order we stumbled over the menu a bit. My son got a simple plate yellow rice, onion, bell pepper and a chicken kabob. My boyfriend and i decided to share the Kofta Kabob Plate. Other guests that arrived and ordered after we had began receiving their food. Like I said we had only ordered 2 plates and the other guests ordered much more. We asked one of the waiters how long until our food would be ready, he returned and said a couple more minutes. Just as he stated the food came out shortly thereafter. The fries on the Kofta plate were cold, not just luke warm but cold. The meat was warm but the flavor was off. My son enjoyed his food but not once did anyone come to refill our WATERS!!! My boyfriend got up to ask a waiter if I could have a refill, the gentleman said yes but they charge for it. As we ate (or should I say didn’t eat) our food no one came to check on us! Our waitress was doing something behind the bar with papers. I got up to ask who the manager was and guess what? Yup out waitress was the manager. I told her our fries were cold, that we had to ask the other waiter for a refill and she said I don’t have to check on your table there’s other waiters here. I told her she wouldn’t be receiving a tip and she said she wasn’t worried about it. I explained that she she be worried about her lack of customer service and low quality of food. I told her to bring our check and that we were done. She came to the table and was still arguing with me about her lack of service. I told her I was done and I left the restaurant and my boyfriend paid the bill. I will never go back to this place and will make it my mission to discourage others from giving her any business with that...

First off it’s very nicely laid out. I was there on a rainy night so very slow midweek. I was extremely hungry after one of those forgot to eat days and the lady had a game night. So I think I over ordered. I ordered the four piece appetizers salad dish. The hummus was wonderful and fresh. Perfect balanced. The tabouli was only reviled by a Lebanese woman’s from years gone by. Again very balanced and refreshing. The Iraqi salad is something I must learn to make half as good. Lastly there was something I am unfamiliar with Jeeta, I think. It reminded me of Raita. The yogurt was well lightly but seasoned. The cucumbers and tomatoes form and good. I can tell that they care about their produce.

The main meal was the sampler platter. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty. The lamb and the rest was top notch. The bell peppers, onion, and pickles also just right. I am going to try all the rice sides

The young ladies working there are very good and helpful. My talkative nature was tolerated. I appreciate that. The folks here are very proud of their cuisine and the way they prepare it. They should be very proud.

This place is right off 94 and easy to get to and plenty of parking. It looks like they are successful and I wang them to stay that way. It’s one of my go to places from now on.

Remember to tip the staff. They work hard and keep the place in...

called on Sunday 6/11 at 2:00pm to reserve a table for 10 people. We wanted to celebrate our graduate! At first, the lady who picked up put me on hold for 16 minutes, she then picked up and said can i keep u on hold. I said I've been on hold for 16 minutes. She then, and In a very unprofessional un friendly and with zero courtesy yelled saying " i can do so much at a time. I'm by myself here serving customers " and she placed me on hold again. After another 10 minutes she picked up. The same rudeness and in an un pleasant voice saying we do not take reservations, we are full, the restaurant has no room all day today. Simply, i hanged up, we picked up another restaurant, and spent our time and money at another restaurant where it's worth to do so. Definitely not going back to Zad any time soon. These guys need to remember that there will be busy days and bad days. Bad days where they may need to kiss a...s to pay their bills.

I would give 0 rating for the horrible customer service those guys have. The owner and the staff should know that customers are their source of their income. If busy or tired. Its your F* business not the customers head ache and they should stay courteous...

This is one of the best, if not the best, mediterranean restaurant that I’ve been to in San Diego! The food was exquisite. I had the dolma and the Shish Taouk plate. The flavor of the dolma was amazing. There wasn’t any meat inside, which is what I was looking for, and they tasted outstanding. The Shish Taouk plate had some of the best chicken I’ve ever tasted in it. It was cooked to perfection with just a little bit of smokiness, and the meat just fell apart. It was some of the best chicken that I’ve ever had. The service and the ambiance were great too. I don’t drink, but they had a little bar and a good selection of beers and beverages. I had black tea and it was steeped exactly right. Milad was my server and he was very friendly and we had some good conversation about the restaurant and where he was from. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for some really good mediterranean food in the San Diego area. Definitely try their homemade ranch too. It wasn’t like anything I’ve ever had. I don’t even like ranch (I know right!??) but I ended up leaving here with two little to go cups full!

Came in on 10/22/2023, it was 3 of us in our party. We got seated immediately and our waitress asked for our drinks. A guy with a bun came out with the drinks he asked if we were ready to order we said yes and he went and got out waitress. We ordered our food and OMG everything was delicious 😋. My son had the chicken scallop plate (breaded chicken) it came with fries and the fries were very tasty as well. I tried some of the chicken and although it was breaded and deep fried it wasn't nasty greasy. I got the chicken shawarma. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. The rice (yellow) OMG was SOOOOO good. My husband not sure what he got but he said it was delicious as well. By the way we tried their lentil soup and it was very good too. We will definitely be coming back! Also when we were in the middle of our meal the same guy that brought out our drinks the one with the bun he asked if we wanted more bread we said no that we were fine and he still brought it out. I am glad he still got it for us because it was warm and very tasty as well. THANK YOU! 😊
