Fatboys Taco — Restaurant in California

Pretty damn good! Was looking for birria on Yelp and this spot came up. Was a bit skeptical but I'm skeptical of everything in Palmdale so I gave it a shot. Tried a bit of everything. Bought a mulita, queso and birria taco, carne asada taco and lengua taco. I was offered sauce and asked for the avocado sauce and red sauce. The tacos had the tortilla on the meat only but they included the cilantro, chopped onion, and lemon wrapped in foil. I liked that because I was able to add as much as I wanted and the tacos were not soggy at all when I got back to my office. The lengua was really good as well as the asada. Tortillas may have been made there as they tasted homemade. I may be wrong 🤷🏽‍♂️. The meat had good flavor and so did the tortillas. I tried both the red sauce and avocado sauce. The red sauce was good but the avocado one was better. The birria in the mulita and queso con birria tacos were pretty damn good. I would say these have to rank close to the top of some of the best birria tacos I've had. Cheese was really good too. Lastly, I had an horchata and even that was really good.

The service was good and quick. Friendly workers. Will definitely go back and take some of my coworkers with me...

Maybe it's been changed by now but the exterior looks run down and uninviting. The interior looks like they opened before they were ready or something. It seems like they weren't finished building or decorating yet. They seemed unorganized. The floor was dirty. The cashier was unequipped to handle a cash transaction. She had to go ask someone if they had change for a $20. I was invited by a colleague that said the place was good. I was dissatisfied with the quality of my food. He liked his burrito though. He saved half and said he'd take it home and eat it later. I could barely finish my food. I ate it out of respect for the guy that invited me there. It was bland and overcooked. It was a few flat tortilla things. Not a quesadilla. If I recall correctly, they don't really serve anything that doesn't have beef or pork. I'm sure some people like it. I would have liked to see some fish or shrimp or some other option on the menu. I think they have other options besides what's on those screens, but you wouldn't know until you get to the front of the line and it's too late. Just my subjective opinion. First let me start by saying the vibe in this place is nice! It’s enjoyable to go eat. Staff is so friendly and polite! They have now made it easier and you can order online and pick up. I personally ordered there as my first time trying it. Loved the outdoor patio vibe with music and lights! Okay now let’s get to the food. I ordered Asada, Burria and Lengua street tacos and a Mulita de Asada. I got the onion, cilantro and lime and avocado, green and red salsa. I didn’t taste the chipotle as they also offer that salsa. Everything is on side which is great. You get to customize your taco a tu gusto (how you like it). All salsas i tasted are amazing. Great flavor and consistency. Taco meat is tender and seasoned to a perfection. Tortillas are great they don’t break apart, they are not stale and have such a great flavor. Something hard to find for sure!
