Flippy's Café — Restaurant in California

I have gone to flippy's for over 15 years and have never had an issue...until today. Their food is decent but not great. My husband tried to call in an order and was told on the phone," we are busy so it will take a while" which would have been fine and understandable. But then after ordering a turkey club (which takes all of 2 minutes to put together since they use deli turkey meat) he was told, "we are to busy you should just try some place else". For a small business you would think they would have better customer service for all customers but especially customers that have supported them for years. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO FLIPPY'S AGAIN AND NEITHER WILL MY FAMILY! So to the owner I hope that you realize that is no way to treat a customer, especially when the customer is willing to wait. When they are that busy they usually just don't answer which is still not good business but at least it's not as rude as telling someone that it may take a while and to just go someplace else! UPDATE : I called only 30 min later and they said they would take the order but after telling the woman who owns flippys, who was rude on the phone to begin with that what happened was not ok...she hung up on me. Again unprofessional and rude, can't believe I ever supported such a horrible...

The food is okay. My ham tasted strange and unnatural (plastic-like). But the biggest reason for the two stars is that the restaurant is so poorly run. The two waitresses were overwhelmed (because they can’t hire people??...I don’t know), and the wait for EVERYTHING was so long!: to get coffee, to order food, to get the food once it was ready, to get our ticket, etc.we were there an hour and a half for breakfast!

But here’s how it is poorly managed: little necessities are not done ahead of time, so the waitresses have to stop and use valuable time to look for silverware and napkins, pour syrup into little cups, put butter in little cups, pour A-1, Tabasco sauce, etc., into little cups.

There was one lady who kept bringing clean cups from the back. Was she hand-washing them?

It was obvious that the waitresses and the cup-washing lady did not get along or respect each other. None of them was willing to answer to answer the long-ringing phone, but walked past it acting as if it was someone else’s job to answer it.

I cannot recommend this place, but I hope they figure out how to work as a team and prep for...

Ordered the pancake delight, menu says it comes with 3 pancakes with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage links or patties. I asked for extra crispy bacon. Plate comes out with 4 bacon, no sausage. I did not say I wanted all bacon. I expected what the menu said, but the retort was the meal comes with 4 meats and you have to specifically ask for 2 bacon and 2 sausage. Her compromise was for us to spend extra money and order a side of sausage links. After we already paid $3 more for toast. It only sucks so much because the bacon was terrible, it had no flavor. It was some thin cut low sodium meat. Bleh. The pancakes were meh, nothing special. Eggs were good though, that's about it. I don't like to eat at places that argue with me over things in black and white and then try to...
