I Love this place. It is so reminiscent of the little roadside diners our family frequented while on driving vacations when I was growing up in New England. The only thing missing is a quaint little hotel attached to the side. The service is great! Karen, the waitress was way cool and very attentive. Came in on 2nd Friday in Sept on the way north on the 101 and there were about 5 tables occupied and service again, was great. On return trip south on Sunday the place was packed with members of the armed forces and with the addition of another equally sweet and nice waitress, service was impeccable and attentive to each and every one of us 13 people on our side of the restaurant. I almost never order eggs benedict but when I walked in the door and saw how awesome the plate looked that the chef was plating, I just had to try it. IT was perfect. Perfect eggs on top and the creamiest, smoothest hollandaise sauce ever. Not at all salty or anything else but a perfect accompaniment to the ham and sourdough base. So good that I ordered it again on trip south and it was perfectly consistent with 1st devouring. The other plates on the other tables during both visits were very well plated and summarily devoured by other patrons. Not a single complaint from 1 single person means that from the girls on the floor to the kitchen staff (chef and dish cleaning technician hey, he's a human being too !) everybody was doing their job very well. If you are ever near here in your travels please make it point to stop by and support this wonderful and quaint diner. . . I'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed. Oh and by the time I finished, the service men and women were gone and the locals and travelers had filled in the empty seats. Apparently the word is...
Read moreWe stopped for a quick break at the gas station across the street and noticed Leo's when we were leaving. BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER in huge letters on the front of the building. The wife had been craving country potatoes, and I was a little hungry, so we decided to give it a try. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The wife ordered a veggie burger and home fries with a dinner salad and the country potatoes. I ordered the Meat lovers mountain. We didn't have to wait too long and our food arrived fresh and hot. She was very happy with her burger, and the fries were perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of crispyness. She absolutely loved the country potatoes as well! The Meat lovers mountain was great! Well seasoned meats with really good gravy atop of a couple fluffy biscuits. Oh yeah, and a good amount of good quality cheese! If you are in the area, I would definitely stop in and check it out! So...
Read moreWe asked at the mission where we could get a good meal in San Miguel and Leo's was recommended. They have sandwiches and burgers for lunchtime until 3pm I had the best hamburger ever with sweet potatoes fries that were not at all greasy even the onion rings weren't greasy. The food was excellent in taste and big in quantity and quality without making you feel stuffed yet has stuck with us 9 hours later. I will definitely go back when in town. We did return and it was just as good. You will not find a better hamburger at any price. It was $9 with sweet potatoe fries a great pickle, with great service in a hole in the wall old yellow house. There is a hidden parking lot in back and street parking. It is just off of the 101 freeway. There is a nice patio in front which h was not used at 102 degrees. Yet there were two empty tables inside...
