McDonald's — Restaurant in California

We stopped here because we left from Hollister 5 O’clock in the morning without having any breakfast or even a cup of tea or coffee. We all needed to have something to eat and drink so that we can reach Vancouver, BC Canada before to sleep. I pulled the car off the highway as soon as I saw the McDonald’s sign. It was an easy exit. This was Coolest McDonald’s ever! Loved the new design. Don't go to McDonald's too often but this was a great stop for a quick meal. There was one family ahead of us ordering their food and they were done in no time. We ordered pancake, couple hash browns, and coffee. I was given a plastic sign saying 22 to put on the table I choose to sit and was told to wait for my food there. The guy that took my order was very polite. After leaving the sign on my table I headed to the restroom. The restroom was very clean and spacious. I was out of the washroom in less than 5 minutes and by the time I returned back to my table, McDonald’s employee was there with my food. Pancakes were really fluffy and warm, whereas hashbrown had lil extra oil, but they were not too bad. Coffee was really good and I had I feeling that it will keep me active for long. The dining area was really well designed and we loved the setup. The decor was super cool and the restaurant was very clean Good prices, road trip food on Hwy 5, food was hot, tasty and served quickly It was a good location, with the gas station next driveway. Did not even get any food after a long stretch of driving because the service was so poor. My boyfriend tried one of the kiosks and an error occurred after we put in the deal, so the worker directed us to use another kiosk. The worker insisted that I try my app and the exact same thing happened at the other kiosk. She said we have to wait another 15 minutes as you can only use one code every 15 minutes — even though we didn't even get to use the initial one, so we basically lost out on 2 deals. We didn't have time to wait and she waited until the moment we decided to walk out and go somewhere else to manually offer the discount.

Highly recommend stopping ANYWHERE else on your way to Nor-Cal. I also know this is just a McDonald's but I have been in their shoes and managed a McDonald's myself, their service was horrible and I wish that she would have more sense of urgency and not treat us like we didn't know anything. Terrible, they can't handle the amount of traffic that goes in there. The first McDonald's I've seen where they limit condiments and napkins so you have to wait in line to get that if you've already gotten your order which they didn't put in themselves even with condiments requested. Soda machine was marked "out of order" soda given out was flat. Even after asking and waiting again. They brought out another soda that was flat and only explanation was "well that's how they are "

Manager came out to give a refund after I asked. Never apologized....awful. Like I said, never been to a McDonald's like that, Terrible service. If you're on the road keep going....

Just fyi: only 2 restrooms, tiny place. Had people lined up into the restaurant...
