Good heavens what are you people smoking! Okay, perhaps there has been a management change but this is the worst Thai restaurant that it's ever been my (dis)pleasure to visit. Calling it the worst Thai restaurant is actually inaccurate because there is nothing Thai about the place. I was dining solo so I asked them to recommend their best dish since I wouldn't be sampling their wares as part of a group. They said that their 'Yelow Curry' was their signature dish. The 'Fusion' in the name should perhaps have clued me in but it is basically BAD (operative word) chinese food masquerading as Thai. Take a closer look at their menu and you too will see the clues! The salad was slathered in sweet peanut sauce and the won tons and fried roll were served with the sickliest dipping sauce that you'll ever taste. The curry sauce was bland, hiding a couple of tiny bits of embarrassed chicken and was LOADED with potatoes. Not a Thai spice to be seen.
I have never written a review as negative as this but I am torqued that the place has the audacity to advertise as Thai. If you have ever eaten Thai food in your life and enjoyed it then you should avoid this place...
Read moreOur favorite Thai restaurant. Period. Great food, great service, usual décor. While the pandemic has put a crimp into our usual travels, we're delighted to be able to stop in at OM Thai for carry-out when we're passing through on our way from the Los Padres National Forest back to our home in the Conejo Valley. Most recently, we ordered Chicken Satay, Shrimp Pad Thai, and a yellow curry, and took it with us to a picnic table in Foster Park for an absolutely wonderful lunch. We've sampled Thai food all over the U.S. and this rates right up at the top. No, we haven't been to Thailand, I get it, but we have tried Thai restaurants all over the San Gabriel Valley (Los Angeles area), in the Bay Area, Seattle, the East Coast, and other places around the world. A Thai restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga and another in Port Hueneme came close, but they've...
Read moreI went with a friend for lunch. We both ordered the lunch special chicken Pad Thai, my friend had a soda and I had a hot tea. My chicken Pad Thai tasted like fish, the noodle were thin, with maybe one or two bean sprouts. It was terrible, I couldn't eat it. My friend barely touched hers also. I mentioned to my waitress that the chicken Pad Thai tasted like fish, and I couldn't eat it, she did not apologize or offer anything. To top it off, when I got home and look at my receipt, it just shows an amount of $41.81, no detail of the items purchased. Each lunch were $14.99, soda $2.50 and hot tea at $3.50 for a total of $35.98. Not only was the food so bad that we couldn't eat it, but I got ripped off! Plus, I got charged 3% extra for using my credit card. So please, at least, make sure you are charged the right amount...
