Picazo Cafe — Restaurant in California

I’d heard good things about this place and decided to try a fish & chips takeout order. Upon arrival, I accidentally hit a customer who was in line with the front door. There is not that much space when you enter, for ppl to be standing in line, and no way to ask anyone a question. There were 2 waitresses bringing out food but oddly, none taking orders. So ppl are lined up with only one person taking orders at the cash register. It was ludicrous as I waited more than 15 minutes for ppl to give their orders, and nowhere was a sign for takeout orders. What a disappointing experience, standing there like sardines in a can, absolutely nothing you could do to speed things up to get your order. The fish was OK, the French fries were too much and half soggy. I can’t say I was pleased with...

I’ll get to why I’m only giving three stars in a moment. This place is adorable. It’s in a great location, the decor is cute, and the seating areas are appealing and inviting. The air conditioner near the cash register drips rusty water on you as you stand or walk under it though, hopefully they’ll correct this.

The reason I’m only giving three stars is because I specifically was excited to eat here because so many of the reviews rave about the burgers. What a disappointment my burger was!! It was smashed so thin I couldn’t even taste the meat. All of the rest of the food we got was good, but the burger was so disappointing that it tarnished the whole experience.

Awesome place I discovered today. Great food, warm and friendly staff. Great selection of wine and beer. They also have soda ( fountain ) and a fridge stocked with juices, sparkling water, root beer, Snapple and an assorted Sanpellegrino.

A great menu for breakfast and lunch, including salads. They also offer gluten free meats.
