Sakana Sushi & Roll — Restaurant in California

My husband and I chose this place because of the five star Google reviews (with many recent reviewers—even during Covid), the photos, the descriptions, and the location. But we will definitely be back, because of the outstanding experience WE had; it warranted a 5+++!!! We cannot think of a time when we have ever enjoyed better sushi, presentation, service, and location! It’s a tiny place and we sat outside. We had expected to take away, so our food came out in boxes. Yet it was so beautiful! And that was in to go containers! (We also saw people eating from plates and bowls, with just as lovely a presentation.) The garnishes are like something from a high end restaurant, including an orchid, shiso leaves, and ribbons of daikon and beet. I’m an artist and was really impressed! The sashimi was thickly cut and incredibly fresh, the purple rice, miso soup, and edamame were delicious. Usually my husband won’t eat rolls because he doesn’t like seaweed, but they made it with soy paper for us instead! For the first time ever, I got to share a spicy tuna roll with him! Additionally, Jeannie checked on us just the right amount of times and was so pleasant and sweet. On top of all that? There is a parking lot in the back! We intend to return again and again!!!...

This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.

Delicious food. Amazing service. And great portions. We got the poke bowls; they were great!! We also got the 3 amigos special roll, green tea, miso soup, and salmon nigiri. All amazing!! Our server was nice, quick, and very attentive. Always making sure our tea was hot and we were well covered. A couple outdoor tables, and a good amount of indoor. Tons of take out action. They have cool purple rice as a signature. And the fish was very tasty! Highly recommend. There is a good sized parking lot next to the restaurant. Just be sure to park with caution; the neighboring Ace hardware brings a lot of turn over of large work trucks that have some challenges with the parking lot. This is a...
