I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and friend after hearing a local band would be playing. Tonight was a full house, I did not see a single empty seat throughout the pub. Starting with the food, I got the Dover sole with lemon caper sauce. It seemed to be a lighter (and presumably healthier) choice compared to burgers, pasta, etc. The fish came with broccoli and rice on the side. Everything was very tasty; the fish was soft and flaky and went really well with a squeeze of lemon. The rice was soft, fluffy, and had a good flavor from the pico de gallo. The main selling point tonight was the atmosphere. We had front row seats to the show: a local swing jazz group. Overall, great place to eat and share a drink or two with friends and chat.

English pub with an East Bay flair. This place has some traditional British faire such as bangers and mash, as well as East Bay foods. In my experience they always have at least two vegetarian items on the menu. The beer selection is extensive as well. The big draw for my family is the large kids play area over in a corner. It lets us all enjoy the wait (me with beer, my 4 year old with pirate ship). There's also a large chalkboard for little artists. Come early though, it does get crowded at night and eventually the play area becomes a music stage.

This is a warm, in the human sense, restaurant. Literally an East Bay Cheers in an English pub manner, with excellent food, wonderful people on the floor, behind the bar and in the kitchen. The star, though, has to be the ribeye. Bar none, it is fabulous. Fish & chips are always good. Salads are sizeable, and if unremarkable, they never disappoint. Shepherd's pie is on point. Good bar options. This is your tried and true place.

Our visit to Kensington Pub was easily summed up in one word, excellent! The owner is outstanding and you can tell he is a great friend to all who join him at the pub! We started with appetizers and drinks, which were both refreshing (cobb salad) and juicy and delicious (chicken tenders & fritters)! The waitresses were wonderful and made us feel like family as they were on top of everything, very helpful, kind and efficient! So saying we had great service overall is an understatement! The thick cut pork chops were recommended and I must say we definitely had the juiciest and most tender ones we could have asked for! Absolutely delicious and will have again, especially with the accompanying buttery mashed potatoes and veggies! Another in our party had the burger and fries, which were a great surprise as well, as they are well-cooked real potato fries! (The garlic fries were a nice treat as an appetizer also!) To finish it off, we ended with the highly recommended sticky toffee pudding. My goodness, I could have eaten that over and over again! Such a delicious flavor and well-paired with a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream and whip! A favorite to all for sure! To summarize, we couldn't have been any happier with the overall hospitality, friendliness and great food! Made for a nice ending to our evening and we will be back for sure!...

A group and I came here on a whim after our show, and when I say I was blown away, I mean it. From service, to quality, to price, this place is doing it right. We happened to be sitting in Jenny's section, and she was so lovely. She took care of us and even though the place was packed, like multiple turn over on tables packed, Jenny made sure to keep us updated on food times, and drink orders. She was the epitome of what good service is! She even brought out extra onion rings because our food was taking longer than expected! Did she need to do that? Not at all- but on top of all of that, the owner came out to apologize about food times! It was incredible! this place gets it - if you want repeat customers, you make them feel like family, and that's what we felt like, family. Now let's talk about the food and the quality of it. My husband convinced me to order the rib eye, which I had no intention of doing, but my guy has a special talent for instantly knowing a quality kitchen, and let me tell you, he hasn't been wrong yet! The quality of the steak they serve is better (and larger) than most restaurants in SF. It was a marbled thing of beauty (not to mention, bigger than my head!) This place is gem, and if you happen to be around at the right time of night, you might just see the mayor, Odin, stop by for a...

Beware! Check that your bill matches the prices seen on the menu!!!

The food was ok. But we had a very bad surprise in the end. The bill was way higher then it was supposed to be.

They charged each glass of rosé $14 (which is insane) instead of the $8 that were shown on all 3 menus we had in hand. We were not told anything about this change at any time. Even at billing.

When we realized the total was higher than it should, we thought it was a mistake. That happens. But in fact we had to plead for over 10mn to get the difference back!

We were being told that the menus were not up-to-date, and that they would change them soon (I don't think this is legal)! In the end they gave us cash back on the difference, but they didn't make a new bill. At that point, it had gotten so complicated we accepted. But I'm wondering if this is legal too.

I had never ever seen this until now. As a customer it really feels unpleasant. Even more that we had left a nice tip, feeling covid Business supportive. As we didn't get a new bill, taxes and tip remained on the high price. I'm surprised that this place is always full. Were we taken for stupid tourists?

We're...
