I recently had the pleasure of dining at Benchmark Pizzeria, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail and the passion for their craft was evident in every aspect of the restaurant, making it a truly remarkable dining destination.

Let's start with the star of the show: the pizza. Oh, the pizza! Benchmark Pizzeria takes this humble dish to a whole new level. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully selected. Each bite was a burst of heavenly goodness, and I found myself savoring every mouthful. It's safe to say that Benchmark Pizzeria has mastered the art of pizza-making.

NEVER eat here if you have any food allergies as food allergies are dismissed and not respected. After eating there regularly and ordering the "gluten free" pasta several times, which they gladly make and serve as "gluten free", we thought to ask how it was prepared.The pasta that they claim is gluten free, is absolutely not, as they make it in the same water as the pasta with gluten. The waiter wanted to argue and said "nobody ever gets sick" clearly not understanding, or caring to know, about the harmful effects of Celiac Disease and gluten allergies. This is a gross violation of health from a trusted restaurant.

This restaurant has had MAJOR food violations with the health department for hand washing/glove use, and handling hot/cold food. Fortunately the Contra Costa Health Dept. website offers full transparency. I wish we would have checked before eating there.

The male server is mocking, rude, arrogant, and ignorant. It would be horrible if someone had a peanut allergy, and they "forgot" to tell them the peanut free dish is cooked in peanut oil. Gluten free dishes cooked in gluten, are NOT gluten free, no matter how you...

We chose this restaurant to celebrate two friends’ birthdays, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We ordered two pizzas and two salads, and sadly, both pizzas were overcooked and burned. When I mentioned this to the server, she explained that this was the way they typically serve pizza, but her response lacked friendliness and seemed dismissive.

To make matters worse, when my friends wanted to light a candle and sing a birthday song, the same server refused to allow us to do so, which felt unwelcoming and took away from the celebratory mood.
