Si Señor Grill — Restaurant in California

Upon entering, i waited for just a couple minutes before being met with a beautiful, smiling face, eager to seat me. *Side note: They DO in fact charge for the chips n salsa, but some places do that. The chips r warm however, and fresh, not like storebought chips. Theyre also served with a delicious bean dip, which sets this place apart from the rest, right away... The food came right away, and let me tell you, it. Was. DELICIOUS. Im SO SERIOUS.

I came at about 11:30 for lunch, n i ordered the enchiladas suizas with an irish trashcan, a drink that the menu calls "very strong", however, it doesnt taste or feel strong at all, which, while this is in fact disappointing, i am aware that based on my appearance, almost ALL bar tenders in California start out lightly with me, so thats to be expected n not at all surprising. As far as the atmosphere, the music playing in the background is totally on point, this is quite obviously a family-run establishment and in turn, a very WELCOMING AND ENDEARING ENVIRONMENT. Even upon adding another guest, late in the dining experience, she too was met with nothing but love. Unlike other establishments, THIS ONE, is one i will forever hold dear to my heart, as it felt JUST LIKE HOME. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE OR RELATIVE OF SUCH, WAS MORE THAN POLITE AND TREATED ME IN SUCH A WAY, THAT ALTOGETHER, THEY, AS A WHOLE. CREATED AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS OF HOSPITALITY AND JUST plain LOVE.

THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS WELL WORTH THE COUPLE BUCKS I CIRCULATED, TO EAT HERE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS PLACE AND WILL ABSOLUTELY MOST DEF RETURN. IF THERE WERE A WAY TO ADD STARS TO MY RATING - I SOOOO WOULD. I GUARANTEE I WONT B THE ONLY ONE WITH A RATING SO HIGH.

MUCH RESPECT TO THE COOK, THE WAITRESS(ES), THE BAR TENDER, N ANY N ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ESTABLISHMENT, SO WELCOMING AND AMAZING AS THIS.

Every year, I travel to Bakersfield. I stop at this restaurant. My past experiences have always been very pleasant. As always, I was speaking with my group about our event for the day. Our waiter started off very efficiently and kind. We were all barely halfway through our meals when he brought the tabs to each of us. This is where the service went from 5 stars down to 2 stars. One of my group members misplaced her debit card and she was quite upset. I was trying to take her off the ceiling and this waiter keeps checking literally EVERY TWO MINUTES to see if I'm paying cash or card, to which I told him we are trying to get this all squared away, just be patient please. The way this guy kept hovering over us made us feel like he thought we were trying to steal food. I do have a mild disability, and it doesn't really show unless someone keeps prodding at me like this. I had a mental block because of all of the chaos. I'm trying to eat my food, help my group locate a lost debit card, and all our server could obsess over was whether I was paying card or cash. Everybody else we've ever had wait on us has been very kind to us over the years. (For context: the restaurant WAS NOT BUSY, they weren't understaffed, and there wasn't a single person waiting for a table.)

This encounter took place last Saturday on June 28th around 5:30. It was definitely less busy than expected. I hope they will train their employees not to harass honest customers for method of payment when something like...

My brother and I went to Si Senor during his lunch break to order menudo, (3 tacos $18.99) and drinks. Service was alright, but seemed like the waitress was new. No biggie. Menudo was good and warm but doesn't come with lettuce/cabbage. Other than the service my problem was I got a moldy lemon with my food. You could tell it was old, since it was drying out from being in the fridge to long. Moldy part was on the skin/side, dry part was the inside of the lemon. Hard to see the green in the picture but it was definitely starting to grow. My phone is not the best. Seeing this, makes me feel as though they may not rotate product properly. Just check any cold items you receive. I have ordered from here a handful of times in the past as a to go for burritos. Some of the food is expensive like ordering 3 tacos w rice and beans to go, I was charged 18.99. I could get a better deal at a taco truck and still be able to order more tacos and rice. The rice and beans where like two spoon fulls. You would expect at least the tacos to have more meat and green on them but they just seemed ehhh. That is ridiculous for the price for the little food you get for the tacos. I didn't notice the tacos until I opened the to go box at home. So check cold items and do not order the 3 item combo thing for tacos. I know I'll just get some B.S excuse for this review from them. Hopefully you just keep an eye out and watch...
