The Cutten Chalet — Restaurant in California

My sister and I went to the Cutten chalet on new years eve for brunch. It was busy but we were sat in about 20 minutes. Our waitress was an older woman who had a horrible attitude that you could tell DID NOT want to be there working. She took our order. We received our food quickly, however my sister's order was wrong. We informed our annoyed waitress and she proceeded to tell us that my sister DID order that, and that my sister said a completely different thing. My sister corrected her. I heard her order. The waitress obviously was confused but her attitude just made it much more hostile. We received the fixed dish. Ate the food. Had countless other servers and hosts and bussers come take care of us who were extremely delightful. And we paid and left. The food was alright. A little greasy. But a good brunch place for sure. The food came in minutes which was both delightful and shocking. I got the french toast with eggs and bacon as well. My scrambled eggs came like an odd egg crepe thing. They were not especially good. My husband got a "make your own skillet" which seemed odd to me upon arrival. 1. It wasn't a baked skillet but food in a skillet shaped plate. 2. The ingredients in his skillet were oddly layered together. This, and the food arriving in less than 5 minutes, leads me to believe that they operate like a cafeteria or buffet with all the food prepared and just plated up on the spot. I don't consider this bad but I feel like I paid "made when ordered" prices (over $15 for my french toast) for cafeteria food. I actually expected more from this place. The 2 meals and 1 coffee...

Such a great restaurant! Kindest staff ever and the food is so good! Literally everything we ordered was delicious, even the foods I don’t usually like. ALL of our plates, even with two kids (2 and 6), looked like they had been licked clean. We ordered kids waffle with sausage (we all tasted and loved it!), kids dollar pancakes (I normally dislike pancakes but theirs are amazing!), crepes with lemon, and hubby ordered CFS(another dish I don’t usually like but LOVED here). Incredibly reasonable priced and quick service without feeling rushed. My daughter lost a tooth here and the waitress brought us a little sauce container to save it in😊 oh yeah and we ordered a huckleberry shake on the way out and it was perfection!
