This restaurant, The Porch, is a gem far away from the bustling cities of Southern California. Me and my partner came about this restaurant when passing by on our way to Paso Robles. The restaurant and its delicious food has an LA atmosphere and touch with bit of tranquility of small town hospitality, a luxury not found in Los Angeles or San Diego. Even the location makes this restaurante even more unique with rolling hills and ranches surrounding this restaurant and town. That being said, the service was impeccable, the people were friendly and upbeat with positivity. The restaurant has a great verity of menu items, which we hope we had enough time to try everything, but we order the avocado toast, Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, and Oreo Chocolate Smoothy. It had to be one the best avocado toast and cheeseburger I have very had, even the fries were Texan steak style fries which are my favorite and more appetizing. I know that the restaurant took priority on the quality of the food. I hope that anyone heading north would stop at The Porch! I know me and my partner will definitely stop by again, hungry for more of its...

We came about about an hour before cruise night started and ordered an artichoke and a kids chicken strip meal with bbq and ranch dressing. It took about 25 minutes to get our order, and we left. I would have gone back if we were still in the area. Unfortunately, for me, it was not an option. Upon opening the Chicken Strip kids' meal, the three tiny pieces of chicken were extremely flat, over fried, and tough to chew. An adult would not eat this, let alone a kid. Also, there is no ranch or bbq as requested. The chicken strips were also stuck together when fried, so it had a mushy undercooked spot. The picture is a torn piece up close so you can see how thin and overcooked the chicken was. The second picture is the part that was stuck together. Disclaimer: I can not vouch for anything else it was my first time under this...

My wife and I had lunch here yesterday. The restaurant was clean, which is always important to me. I ordered the Porch Burger, and my wife ordered the chicken sandwich. We both had side salads. I stated that I did not want tomatoes on anything (due to allergy), unfortunately my salad came with tomatoes. I was going to have them scrape the salad off and I would be fine with the burger. Within three minutes the waitress returned with a salad without tomatoes. I'm always impressed when an error is corrected quickly and accurately. The burger was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavors. My wife really liked the chicken sandwich too. The waitresses checked in with us often to make sure we were satisfied or if she could do anything else. That type of service presents a friendly atmosphere in the cafe. We'll...

We live nearby and finally came in for lunch. It has a casual roomy atmosphere with walk up counter ordering. It was cool, spacious, and very pleasant inside. The staff is bubbly and busy and there's a great selection of food and drink. My wife had the Mary's chicken which was a super fresh grilled chicken with pesto and veg on a not too crusty bread. A big variety of Zapps chips included with most sandwiches etc. A lot of their online menus don't seem to include the hot dog I had which was freakin' great. Peppers, onions, bacon, lil mayo on a soft toasty bun. Dang it was good. Their fries are glassy and perfect, plus they have soft serve which lots of folks came in and out of the place to order while we ate. Drink fountain and lots of beer and wine choices. Highly recommend a visit! I wish they were open Sunday!

This is a very pleasant and casual place to listen to live music by local musicians. The food is average.... I've probably eaten there about 3 times. I was completely unimpressed the first 2 times, but the last time the food seemed better, and my husband agreed. We will likely be back to listen to live music, and maybe after a few more visits we can ascertain whether the food is actually gotten better, or if it was a fluke. At this point, the live music is the main draw for us. Also, It's worth mentioning that there just aren't that many places to eat in tiny Santa Margarita.
