After reading the reviews I was excited to visit Viewpoint Neighborhood Kitchen at Sycuan. Of course, I had to look at the menu prior to arrival. I was set on the calamari, chorizo mussels and bone in pork chop. You know it’s bad when the bread comes out and one of them is hard as a rock. I felt terrible sending it back but c’mon first impression. Calamari – Jalapeno, fennel, charred lemon, meyer lemon aioli and cocktail sauce Chorizo mussels – Chorizo, garlic, fennel, pitted olives, confit tomato, white wine, tomato sauce and grilled bread Pork chop- Grilled pork chop, grilled asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, apricot cranberry chutney
We asked for all three dishes to come out at the same time and all three did but the Calamari came out room temp and didn’t taste freshly fried we mentioned it to our server and he was more than willing to get us a new order. The chorizo mussels had great flavor but the olives were bigger than the mussel meat themselves which made it harder to eat. The pork chop was seasoned well so were the potatoes, the asparagus were a bit cold but I wasn’t going to be that gal. Also, it should be noted…. the menu says apricot cranberry chutney and the overload of the apricot was quite drastic, just my two cents. The second time the calamari came out, it was hot but goodness gracious I thought I was going to die from the extra sodium sprinkled on them. I held my tongue but it was so salty it literally was inedible so I apologized and just told them to take it away. Our server Carlos did the right thing and took it off the bill, he was also extra patient with us, thank...

There was no line but we were given 25 minute wait time. We got the text to arrive and discovered a line of people who also received the 25 minute text. It must be on rotation, staffing or they want you to go play casino games.
The snow crabs were sweet and semi easy to open. Tools were given but we brought our own kitchen sheers which made it quick and simple.
I am crab out for now but definitely a place to be if you just want strictly crab. It’s a full on restaurant so you can order from the menu.
Abdoul was our server and made sure we were on repeat and each plate came out hot. We appreciate his service.
You can sit in the patio...
Read moreHad a couple meals at Viewpoint Kitchen + Bar while I was in town for the MSPT at Sycuan, and it definitely hit the mark. The food was consistently good, portions were solid, and it didn’t feel like the typical casino café situation—it had its own vibe.
I had the French toast one morning and it was great. Crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, and that honey butter they serve with it? To die for. I also tried the country fried steak, and it was right on point—crispy, flavorful, and comforting in all the right ways.
The service was quick and friendly, and the menu had a good mix of options whether you wanted something hearty or just a lighter bite. One of my favorite parts was the open, relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice change of pace from the action in the casino—good place to reset before jumping back into the grind.
Whether you’re playing poker, staying at the resort, or just looking for a quality casual spot, Viewpoint is worth checking out. I’d go back...
