Long Post: Today, we went to El Ranchito to order tacos. When Ken Kimble opened his order, there was one taco not three tacos but there was only one taco and the plate looked like someone had finished their food because the sides (lettuce and hot peppers) look disheveled and the napkin was on top of the plate. The food was barely placed on the plate. Called the restaurant to let them know that there was one taco not three soft pork tacos. The conversation went as followed:
Cashier: Was the tacos on a small plate or a big plate? Me: Big plate Cashier: I made your tacos ma’am there is no way one taco was on a large white plate. Me: Yes it was. I will be up there in a few minutes, I’m just waiting for my daughter to come out of Angela’s Beauty Supply and we will visually look at the plate together to see there is only one taco and not three.
Returned to El Ranchito, Ken and I went in to return the plate back to the cashier. The cashier rudely responded, “There is no way there was only one taco. Have a good day. Dismissed Ken and I and proceeded to assist other customers”. Me: Do you think that we scoffed down two tacos in that short matter of time? It’s okay. I proceeded to call the police. I’m going to call the police and we’ll see about this. We’ll let the officer make that determination.
I called the police and Officer M. Mitchell arrived. He was very professional. Upon arrival, he stated that this was civil manner and that was not much he could do. I explained to him what happened and how I was taken aback about the rude behavior that was shown towards Ken and myself. He said he would talk to the individual. The officer spoke with the cashier. He came out and said that they was not going to reimburse us. It was fine because I told the officer that this was about principle and not about the food or the money. We have been patrons of El Ranchito for almost 30 years. Ken and I have never been treated in such a rude and unprofessional manner. We will never ever patronize El Ranchito ever again. Special thanks to CPL. M.Mitchell for exuding empathy and professionalism. Babe, I’ m so sorry that this happened to you. Read moreHad gone here last weekend and had a horrible experience. My mother and I ordered two orders of soft pork tacos. We got home and started eating the pork tacos and in every bite, there was a hard piece of meat. The cook had overcooked some of the pork meat which is why it was hard. We called and spoke to the young lady that took our order and she put Mariah on the phone. We explained to Mariah that the meat was hard. She put us on hold for about a minute and came back to the phone stating that if we had eaten all of the tacos then she CAN NOT do anything because that is their POLICY. She said that if we still have the tacos, we could bring them back and then they can replace them. It was bad enough that we drove over 30 minutes to get tacos from this place to make it home and notice that the food was messed up. She was not considerate of ANY of that. She asked for us to bring the food back. I told her that I do not live close by and I may not be back in the area for a few days. She told me to put the food in the freezer to keep it FRESH. Now I am wondering if they reuse the food... It is very unsanitary that they want you to hold on to the food and bring it back to them especially with COVID going on. I will never go back...
Read moreGreat Mexican food. Just went this evening and it was great. Been going here since I was a kid. Update 04/18/24. Just went last night, food was off. Called in and the girl On the phone was not friendly and didn't understand my disappointment and disgust for a waste of time. I never cussed but she was trying to correct me from expressing how dissatisfied I was. She didn't like that I said It seemed like microwaved leftovers, and that it tasted gross and nasty. Told me to bring it back. Told her I'd be in tomorrow. The more I think about it, I'm gonna toss it and avoid them. Sad because I've been coming her since it was El Corral and the whe Fernando ran it til he passed and so on. I don't like guessing when a place is gonna be good or not but then be corrected when I explain my...
