Hey Good People. Let me first start off with the pros and praises. Corrine’s Place food is delicious. The potato salad, fried porgy, and candied yams are so tasty. I’m told their wings, baked mac and cheese is also good. Last year, I was able to have Corrine’s cater a repast and they delivered on time with everything we needed. I would definitely reach out to them again for catering purposes. From Philly, Corrine’s Place is about 26-30min ride depending on traffic. This is my second time going to Corrine’s Place on a Sunday and both times, myself and the person I traveled with had to wait an unpleasant amount of time for our food. That’s Unacceptable. Now let me say, I do appreciate the friendliness of the staff and that my food does come out hot and ready to eat, however, the wait time especially traveling over the bridge and for those locally is unacceptable. As a Black Owned Business (B.O.B)and a staple within the community, we deserved for our businesses to handle their logistics better. It seems as if it’s a common trend with many B.O.B. and I cannot seem to understand why. It really makes me not want to travel or spend my money in such establishments due to the wait. You go from waiting patiently, to becoming frustrated, and then angry. I expect no matter what restaurant I patronize for service to be done well, and logistics being executed with a high level of professionalism. Giving that Corrine’s Place is very established and been around, this problem should not be a problem. Having your customers wait up to an hour for food they called ahead for is unprofessional. Both times visiting Corrine’s Place on a Sunday, the wait was ridiculous. It seems like it’s family ran and that’s a beautiful thing to see, but please have the right family members helping and assisting. There was an older man taking names outside on a brown paper bag with a black pen in the dark. That’s not effective. The older gentleman would forget the names by time he went back inside which would cause more of a delay. There was too many entrances for people to pick up food and order food. And please check receipts because as a patron watching, it is easy for someone to say they paid for a platter at one window and leave without ever paying.
The details, especially the small ones MATTER. Corrine’s Place needs to hire someone for logistics purposes because this cannot continue. And I thoroughly enjoy supporting my own, but not like this. If you are in need for a person to come in and work with logistics, feel free to reach out. We can’t complain without at least having solutions. I hope that Corrine’s Place continue to thrive and be blessed. I hope you make the necessary changes so that you can flourish even more and grow even better. Happy Eating...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a satisfying dining experience, through door dash. Unfortunately, my expectations were shattered the restaurant's abysmal customer service and an unacceptably long wait for our food. From the moment we ordered the lackluster customer service was evident. The staff appeared disinterested and exhibited an overall unprofessional attitude. They seemed unresponsive to customer inquiries and requests, displaying a blatant disregard for their responsibilities. Such behavior left a negative impression on me and tarnished the entire dining experience. One of the most frustrating aspects of our visit was the significant delay in receiving our food. Despite a moderate crowd, the kitchen seemed to be struggling to keep up with orders. Our wait time extended far beyond what is considered acceptable, testing our patience and dampening our enthusiasm. It is disheartening to see a lack of efficiency and organization within the restaurant's operations. Not only was the staff indifferent, but their attitude towards customers was also off-putting. There was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and genuine care about our dining experience. This indifference was reflected in their interactions, with minimal efforts made to address concerns or rectify any issues. It is crucial for any establishment, just because you been around for so long doesn’t mean that you can act this way. The food way to salty, you don’t get a good amount for the price. I’m far from satisfactory due to their poor customer service and extensive waiting time for food. The negative attitude displayed by the staff further compounded the disappointment. I believe it is essential for the management of this restaurant to address these issues promptly and implement significant improvements to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for their customers. Until then, I regrettably cannot recommend this place to others seeking a positive culinary experience with exceptional customer service. Even though people have been complaining for years they not going to...
Read moreLoved the food! Everything was delicious! I will say that I ordered 2 fish platters over the phone. When I got there after about 45 minutes, I went to the window and was told my order wasn't ready yet. I waited 10 minutes in my car and went back and they said they're out of fish... So I end up ordering the beef short ribs platter, the chicken wing platter, the turkey wing sandwich, and a side of sweet potatoes. I waited another 10 minutes and finally got all my food. The price was reasonable. When I got home and tasted everything, all the frustrations were over!! My mind was blown by how good everything was! I had Corrine's cater a party about 10 years ago and they've only gotten better! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for some great soul food!
UPDATE - After leaving the 1st review I was not discouraged from returning because the food was delicious. However, when I called to place my order I was immediately met with a question, "did you order the other day?" I said "no." But the girl had a serious attitude while taking the order. I was kind of skeptical about it but still placed the order. When I got there to the window, one of the girls looked at me and went to another girl and said "he is the one" and they went on with a snide side conversation while looking over at me. I waited for my food and asked the one at the window if they had a problem back there. She said no hesitantly. I then said, "yes, I did leave the review, is that an issue?" The two in back just walked away into the rear area. The girl at the window didn't say anything. Again, the food was good, but the service was HORRIBLE!! The girls that work up front are very immature and caddy.. I left a review of exactly what happened the 1st time. If they didn't like it, step your service up.. Don't research who ordered fish platters that you accepted, but didn't have, search for their phone number and give them attitude if they call or come back. The review was accurate and they still received 5 stars. The last encounter moved them...
