Well, I'm not sure what to say. I had heard NOTHING but good things about The Diamond Bar and its food and my being a TRUE Foodie, I am FINALLY getting around to checking out the menu, my first trip on February 1st, 2021 (this was birthday treat to myself, yay) I order these two items: Tina's Hot Ball and The Pasta Aglio with added chicken, an additional $4. I did a carryout.
Once home I couldn't WAIT to dive into it since the aroma in the car after only 5 mins was not only mouthwatering but intoxicating and the weight of the bag gave reason to feel I'd be TOTALLY full after gorging myself.
Got home, unpacked my goodies, grab a beer to wash it down and readied myself for a feast!
Now, Tina's Hot Ball was DELICIOUS and far larger than expected Full of flavor and a meal within itself. 5 stars just for that and that wonderful flavor. Now, the Aglio was a bit of a disappointment. Granted, it was full of pasta and greens, a hearty portion and smelled good but for an additional $4 you can clearly see what I received hardly any chicken. What you do see I spooned up since I went searching under the pasta for more meat. Granted, the flavor was pretty good BUT if your paying $4 for additional chicken you should SEE $4 worth of chicken, not small, tiny bites and morsels. It left me wanting but I can say I was full.
Talked to friend who frequents the place regularly about my experience and he convinced me to try them again. So I did. This time it was a little bit worse.
This second trip, March 3rd 2021, also a carryout, I ordered the Diamond Buger with a side of Onion Rings. Sometimes a place just needs a second trip.
The burger was, for lack of better way to say it, flavorless, overcooked (I ordered it medium so you still have the full flavor of the beef) with burnt edges on the bun that didn't help the overall flavor at all. Tasted the condiments and felt the texture of the meat but little to no REAL flavor beside the burnt edged bun. The onion rings were slightly over cooked, very greasy, like grease coming out of as you bit into it and flavorless as well. A real let down.
I feel bad reviewing the bar this way since I had heard so many good things but I dunno. I'm fearful. I'm not rich, just an under paid service worker, so any discretionary funds I use to treat myself I try and use wisely. I guess after spending almost $20 on the fist meal, $15 the next I am not sure if I want to take the chance again, especially since, in my opinion, you have VERY few good resturants here. A LOT of average or lower places but so few good ones. I had high hope's for this place.
Maybe, if a friend pays, I'll try...
Read moreThe price of wings on the menu online IS NOT the price anymore. They have 2 different prices for dine in and carry out. My boyfriend was told the dine in prices for 12 wings ($13.50) but the carry out price was $15.50. Had we been told the actual price, we would not have ordered. I nicely let the lady who cashed me out that I was told the wrong price after I paid. She then reminded her coworkers to tell the correct prices for carry out. The girl who took our order got an attitude and kept repeating “that’s not true I told them the correct prices they’re wrong” but I told her the phone was on speaker and we were told $13 for 12 and $19 for 18 wings. She kept rolling her eyes and that was that. There was nothing but young people behind the bar taking shots and being loud. Unprofessional for it...
Read moreWe moved away from Campbell 4 years ago, but we still keep in touch with family and friends! When we come back, this is definitely one of our stops. 5-stsrs all the way. It's a bar where you can hang out, get some great "bar food" -seriously, the wings are fantastic! The drinks are super cold, hey, the service, superior!! Shout out to Crystal Elash and Al the servers!! There is an outdoor patio and bar that is great to hang out on those great Summer Nights we so miss! If you want to have a great time, watch a game, the Diamond fits the bill. Not that "chain" bar, but a place you'll come back to again and again. If you want any other opinions, ask anyone from The Class of '87 Campbell...
