OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OUTSTANDING FOOD. Hi, my apologies for not being a "high roller" like the last comment but I hope my review is considered by anyone passing through? i wanted to come back up north for a slice of pizza. i debated it until I saw the review and was like "I Like Pizza, I like driving North, i like the White Mountains, I don't believe that review is true and allegedly they have $500 less per week coming in...let's rock!"
I got up to Chesley's got in and was greeted by a person at the register who's smile was coming through her mask, I think she might have smiled with her eyes even? Totally friendly, got my order right, wonderful to everyone else who came into the store. The folks in the back also had great attitudes and a great connection with their regulars. One of the folks in the back was talking movies, I asked a question, they were nice enough to answer, no bad attitude and no sneering. Great group of folks and great energy.
I got my food, a chicken parm w/mushrooms and some other things. They had no issue adding the mushrooms and got a slice to have before I took off for back south. Pizza was great, picnic area was clean, whole place was clean and off i go wishing I could have stayed up North more....
I get home and open the sub up: The person who made the sub wrapped it in two separate halves without me even asking. Keep in mind that the food is from a place in a gas station, the person gave enough of damn about what was being put out to wrap it up nice! Whaaaat?
The sandwich was delicious by the way. I wish the reader could hear me chomping on it right now saying "it's so good,"because it really is good. It's a good place to pick up Italian food and I will check out more of their menu in the next year...
NOTE: the whole time the lady at the register was being nice and helpful to every person who came in. Didn't matter if they were covered in a hard day's work or a soccer mom, she treated everyone well. Everyone who came in wore a mask. Everyone...
I can't spend $500 a week but I'll make a point to stop in here whenever I'm in the area. And if you need a kid's fishing pole, a sleeping pad, some firewood or some beer, they got that too. "5 Stars"...
Read moreI have been a customer for 35 years and I spend at least $500 per week there between my business and personal purchases.
Today I was verbally attacked by a staff member that had no mask on when I entered the store. She belittled me and harassed me about wearing a mask. I have a medical condition which doesn’t allow me to wear a mask. I’m protected by the American Disabilities Act, but I didn’t get a chance to express that because Rosie was so rude that I couldn’t get a word in edgewise!
I will never spend another dollar in this store in my life!
Wayne, as I said I never got the chance to tell the employee that I have a disability because she screamed at me from across the store! When people scream at you, do you often stop to debate with them? Do you promote your help screaming at people?
As protected by the ADA I have no legal requirement to disclose the fact that I am disabled or the nature of the disability. Furthermore, it’s illegal for anyone to inquire about the nature of a disability.
Good to know you don’t care if you’re employees aren’t wearing a mask! Also good to know that 35 years of being a customer means...
Read moreHidden Gem of the area! Honestly the Irving looks tiny and like there’s nothing to it when ur driving in but the store is cute and has some little gifts and camping necessities, I assume, we weren’t camping but there’s a few campgrounds in the area, honestly just stopped to go to the bathroom lol. But we were all starving and were gonna look for a restaurant after but realized they had one. They had a large menu but we got a Italian sub, breadsticks, and a pizza (that was AMAZING!) all the food was amazing. Afterwards we got some homemade deserts, a yogurt parfait & a Boston Cream Pie (which I don’t usually like) but it was absolutely delicious! Omg if I’m ever back in that area I will definitely go back there, anyone that’s in that area and wants some great eats and good customer service should go...
