Smokehouse 64 — Restaurant in Canton

I stopped in at 6p after a VERY long day of work and driving all over East Texas. I knew at Dukes there was a Taco Casa. I fully intended to get a burrito and tea and hit the road again. But, Brady!! She greeted me with a smile and a friendly voice and asked if I would like to try a piece of fish. I thought, sure, why not. It was very good! She explained to me what the fish special included.... i thought about it and was sold! It was very good!! She took a weary traveler and took him from a $7.00 meal at a competitor right next door and turned me into a $16.00 sale!! She speaks clearly and is VERy engaging!! You have a Golden Goose on your hands with her! Treasure her! Most young people these days do not know how to talk to people. They are either scared or shy. The Manager, Feras was also very engaging and professional. So glad to have met them both! This was probably THE BEST customer service experience I have had in the last 5 years, HANDS DOWN!! I will remember this place and will be back!!...

This is by far some of the best BBQ we have ever had. Don’t let its location at Dukes Travel Center fool you. It’s every bit as good as Black’s in Lockhart. My husband and I both got the brisket plate. I was tempted to get ribs but the brisket was calling my name. Leo, the brisket magic maker, could not have been a nicer man. He gave me a taste before he fixed my plate. Yup that sealed the deal! It is worth the drive, from DFW, Terrell, even Shreveport. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed. Warning - my husband got the spicy bbq sauce on his and wished he had done like I did - on the side! The sauce is delicious but the meat is so dang good you just rather not cover it up. The Mac ‘n cheese was great, the green beans were just okay - because they weren’t hot enough. All in all a solid...

OMG!!! As an accomplished food & beverage director from the casino business by way of Las Vegas, I have never encountered BBQ dish like this EVER! The smoked brisket is out-of-this-world. The baked beans & mac-n-cheese is definitely homemade like grandma's recipe, the coleslaw is on-point good. Now, I'm diving into the fried pies which I've heard were delicious!

My first experience was so delightful and had to return for a second visit to check for consistency, and these guys (Sam & Ms. Danny) did not disappoint. Their GM was just as hospitable as the staff, making the experience overall pleasant. I highly recommend this Smokehouse 64, if you inquire tasty BBQ and humbling hospitality.
