Golden China Restaurant — Restaurant in Cape Carteret

Golden China located in eastern North Carolina features some of the best flavors for the Far East. The service is kind and upbeat. The food is prepared fresh and quick but not too quickly. Correctly seasoned and properly prepared the dishes when served out look just as you would imagine after seeing them displayed on the menu or on the images in the restaurant.

It is a nice place to eat in and there is no hurrying by management or staff. In the room itself is one of the most impressive images of China I have ever seen. It is view seen from a park somewhere in China. It is on a riverbank and the view is up a long and beautifully forested valley. On the one side of the river is a relatively modern park with people dressed in contemporary clothes. On the far bank is a large temple or fort or some other ancient building. All along the far bank appears to be landings for trade. It is a beautiful and most unexpected sight to see.

It is always a pleasure to order here in person. I prefer it rather than over the phone, which can also be easily done. There's just something about being there. Enjoy the food! 2019 these owners moved from emerald isle great Wall to cape carteret Golden china. It took three years, but they actually found me, and I finally enjoy my chinese food again. I am a picky eater, so I usually stay with what I know. I started with fried chicken wings and pork fried rice. I was surprised how delicious it was. One day I walked in and talking with the owner she talked me into boneless spare ribs. At which point I fell in love with sweet and sour sauce. That has been my go to dish for a very long time now. Tina surprises me now and then with a new dish for me to try, and I can honestly say I have never been served a dish I didn't like. If you may like something different then what is on the menu talk to them, and can possibly change it up for you. Everything is freshly prepared with the freshest ingredients and seasonings. The portions are more than I expected. Always more than enough for the price. The Crab Rangoon, Wontons, Dumplings, and Egg Rolls are all handmade on site. Restaurant is very clean. You can eat in or take out. They have bottled drinks and canned drinks available for purchase. Cheaper than the grocery stores or drink machines. Speed of service is 15 minutes or less. They have excellent customer service and very friendly staff.
