The worst dentist office in the world. I had a tooth with a previous root canal and crown. They told me it had an infection beneath and I had to chose whether to get it extracted and replaced or go elsewhere to have the infection removed from beneath. I couldnât decide, I care about my teeth a lot. The receptionist Sue said âGo somewhere else, Iâm not dealing with you anymoreâ. I wouldâve, but I already paid for all my X-rays. I didnât want to start from scratch with another dentist while in pain for so long already waiting for an appointment. I went in and seen Dr Tucker, whom was very compassionate. She said that she doesnât feel comfortable extracting it since she could tell I was unsure. However, I was unable to get into the other place and the pain became too much. Therefore, I went back and had Dr. Gentry extract the tooth. She left a very sharp, jagged piece sticking out of my top gums. I went back later for her to âfile it downâ. During this procedure she âaccidentally â dropped her tool and smashed my bottom teeth causing 10/10 pain. She then yelled âDO NOT TOUCH MEâ! I was unaware I had touched her, apparently I had flailed from the pain of her negligent mishap. She then had 2 hygienists come and hold my arms down as if I was the problem đ. Mind you, I am unable to say anything with mouth full of stuff. When I could talk I asked her to acknowledge her blunder, which she did but no apology. My bottom jaw and almost all the teeth on one side were in extreme pain for weeks. I thought they were loose. Also, she prescribed meds after the extraction and filing episode â however they werenât sent to the pharmacy. I called and spoke to Carlos 3-4x. He kept saying he would send the prescriptions but never actually did until I actually went in there. This happened every single game time. I wouldâve left the practice but I had paid for their 1 year in house plan, which includes a discount for dental work and 2 Cleanings. I seen Dr Tucker to do some fillings, she was fantastic as always. The hygienists had always been good also. Dr Tucker said I can request to see her, which I always did. I went for a cleaning a few weeks ago and after I thought I was ready to go. However, in comes Dr. Gentry who insists that she had to examine me now. I refused politely as I could â explaining that I only had negative experiences with her and positive experiences with Dr. Tucker. When I left the office, I was expecting to get my next appointment card â as I had an entire treatment plan. However, I was told that they have no appointments available until after September â which is when my in house plan expires. I realized that was ridiculous, and went in to speak to the manager Carlos about getting a refund and moving on. I have had enough â and Iâm willing to walk away. He said he would call me back the next day. He never called back. I went to a new dentist and they needed to get my records from Seaside dentistry. They called and were told that I was not a patient of theirs. I told them that it would probably be an issue. Iâm strongly considering litigation at this point.
They are extremely petty and purposefully providing negative customer service at every opportunity possible. There are countless other, childish tactics they have done â Iâm sure they think itâs funny. However, they are supposed to be a âprofessionalâ healthcare providers. There is nothing professional about causing harm to your patient. There is nothing professional about being incompassionate to a patient who is in extreme pain. There is nothing professional about not sending antibiotics to the pharmacy â when a patient just had an extraction and is prone to infection. So I go to a new dentist. And they call to get records from Seaside (âGood Luckâ) â and seaside tells them they have never heard of me.
Disgusting way to treat patients. You have no business running a healthcare practice.
However, from my experience â this is the very last practice I would ever recommend. I worked in healthcare administration for many years and never seen...
Read moreI was struggling to find a dentist in the area comfortable working with my SPECIAL NEEDS daughter and who is a network provider for Tricare dental. Found Dr. Gentry's office in Cedar Point. The staff is wonderful! Dr. Gentry took time to speak to me in depth of different sedation options for my special needs daughter in order to complete her dental work. The great thing about this office is that Dr. Gentry is comfortable working with special needs patients. Sedation options are only as needed and done in the office. I was able to have my daughter mildly sedated to complete work a previous dentist was uncomfortable finishing since they wanted her to be fully sedated to complete the work. The clinic is "closed" on Wed so the staff is able to perform sedation work on patients who need a block of time not normally available on normal working days. The office was quiet which helped calm her for the mild sedation portion and a T.V. in the room to give her something to focus on while we waited for the sedation to take effect and during the procedure. It was wonderful to finally have the work completed after a year of trying to find a dentist. The dentist I saw previous to Dr. Gentry was only comfortable working on her unless she was fully sedated. This would have required me to drive to New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington and the out of pocket expense was outrageous since the work was being done at a hospital instead of in office and the dentist was non-network. I called Seaside Dentistry, was scheduled that day so the Dr. Gentry could meet her, transferred the records from the previous dentist to discuss her options, and was set up for the procedure in the same month! Thank you Dr. Gentry and staff for making this dental experience a great one for my daughter and me. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Gentry's office especially if you have a special needs family member. I plan on the rest of my children and myself going here when our next dental...
Read moreI waited 42 minutes to have my teeth cleaned. The hygenist called me "Baby" frequently. She did not know where my root canal was done, which was done during the last visit. I had to correct her.All of my teeth were not cleaned, she determined that the staining was from coffee or tea, told 4 times! I swallowed frequently because water and suction were not used like other hygenist do. I asked for the Dr to look at my bite from my previous work, told hygenist that I wasn't chewing on that side. She told me that I "just can't be doing that!" ( Yes, I know, that's what I need to have looked at.) I have seen a different hygenist each time I have been in the office. I do not want to see this hygenist again. When checking out, the lady at the front desk pronounced in front of everyone in the lobby that my insurance only covers this amount and I would have to pay. I didn't mind paying, but I did mind everyone sitting in the waiting room to know my billing. She begins to announce that my husband had a balance too. I told her that he had talked with the Dr previously and was told they would resubmit the claim. She told me to call the insurance company myself. We've never had to do that. I'm really bothered that everyone in the lobby knows our business with dental billing! I really like both dentists but the office is very unprofessional. The entire time I was in the office, the employees were laughing and talking loudly outside the exam room. Frequently, my hygenist would turn to look at whoever was in the hall. On a positive note, my bite seems to be...
