Came across this coffee shop last week and stopped with my mom; we got 2 coffees and a food item. Aside from them being out of caramel creamer, we thought the coffee was good. Barista was knowledgeable and helpful. Overpriced like any coffee place, but still good. I went back less than a week later with my friend who was visiting so I could introduce her to a new coffee place, and had a totally different experience. Walked in to see 3 people working under age 25 (I'm also within the same age range so this is not a post against young people) and stepped up to place my order. My friend ordered a "London Fog" (tea) and instantly knew she made a mistake when one barista asked the other, "how do you start that? Is it a milk base or something else?" Lots of confusion around how to make this drink, so much so they had to consult the 3rd worker. We were told it would be about 5 minutes to brew the tea. Close to 10 minutes later, the barista comes out with what looks exactly like an iced tea. On the menu when you order a "London Fog", it quite clearly says "includes milk." Automatically seeing it was wrong, my friend mentioned that and the barista looked tremendously confused. A few minutes later she brings out an entirely different looking drink, almost like a coffee with a gallon of creamer and melted ice. My friend took a sip, but not to have our quick outing turn into a 45 minute affair for 2 drinks, she said it was fine. My friend took 2 sips and threw it away. I would've said something because that was almost $6 completely wasted on my end. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. I was considering purchasing a gift card for my mom but will not be doing that now. Don't open a new business and offer menu items your employees literally cannot make. Of course, like anywhere else with workers under 30, there was no manager, supervisor or "adult" in sight. Way better off at Dunkin Donuts...
Read moreStrong coffee. Thats the best part. We had just returned from Lima Peru where there are 4 coffee shops around every intersection, and they don't play around with weak coffee. So we were spoiled. This place was a nice surprise. Nice little place, but actually spacious for a Cafe. Plenty of seating. They have a drive through, and people were also picking up. We sat inside. The staff is nice, friendly, upbeat personalities, good for the morning. They were knowledgable, and seemed to be happy and enjoy their jobs. I like to be fair with reviews, and often list some negatives while still giving 5 stars. Stars are important to a business, and less than 5 prevents a 5 star average. If I am happy, and will return, and overall satisfied....5 stars. The food took a while. Probably longer than most would hope for. Why? I don't know. The staff is busy, clearly working, so perhaps its their system or not enough staff? I ordered egg bites. My wife ordered a chocolate croissant. Just realized they forgot. Oops. I am writing this review while still at the establishment. I assume they forgot because they were making coffee orders. But, again, to be fair, a learning lesson for them. We are easy going and patient. Some others might get upset. I feel bad criticizing because the 2 young ladies are very nice. And they aren't goofing off. Just were busy. We sampled a couple ice cream flavors. Too early for that, but we were curious because they sell "Kelly's" ice cream. Looked special. Had to give it a test drive. Good stuff. The Mexican Chocolate was really good. We will return because 1. The coffee is strong, bold, and good quality. 2. The staff is friendly and professional. 3. Nice atmosphere, comfortable, ...
Read moreStarted out great, was good coffee. Enjoyed going there untilâŚStrike one was I ordered cappuccino with triple shot. Received drink without extra shots that I paid for. When asking about them I was given a hard time, for the new person they were training on register didnât indicate the extra shots nor did they do the app thing. No big deal, removed appâŚnot important. Strike two was July 4th and was waited on by an exceptionally nice young man. In the rear I was scowled at by another employee, same who gave me a hard time at strike one. Maybe person had a bad day. They were very slow that day due to holiday. Strike three, I decided to give it another chance. Ordered my cappuccino but was told the espresso machine was down, they were working on it. So I waitedâŚtime passed and customers came in ordering lattes and such and they were getting their orders. Finally I went to register to get money back if they couldnât make it and heard employee tell other on machine âoh yeah, a cappuccinoâ. I was forgotten. It happens, but it was the same person from previous strikes. Iâm done. Coffee isnât that important to me to be treated like that. Thatâs my experience and sure yours will be different, obviously not liked here. If I need a coffee, there is a nice shop in south Fort Myers I go to, just have to look forward to that. Note: it is a comfortable place that can make a good...
