I live in Tampa, so I was down vacationing in Cape Coral with my wife. Had been a while since I had a really good Cuban sandwich so we stopped here since it was very close to the airBnB we had. The Cuban sandwich was a disappointment. I expected it packed with flavor since I was at a real Cuban resturant. The meat tasted like sliced lunch meat. My wife ordered a Cuban hamburger, and we had to send that back. Also, we saw on the menu they had fresh made milkshakes. My wife and I love Mango and they had a mango flavored milk shake. We ordered one only to hear that their blender was broken and so they could not make a milk shake. Might not seem like a big deal, but when you get your mouth ready to taste something only to find out you can't have it, it's disappointing to say the least.

El Mambo, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter. Oh,I forgot how good the coffee and food is plus a frugal place. You go here for the breakfast special, Choice of OJ,cuban coffee, coffee, bacon or ham plus 3 eggs the way you want.Along with toast or cuban bread. All for like 6 bucks.... WARNING: do not get the waffles....they are just frozen types. Cubans do not know how to make waffles. everything else so far so good. Service is wonderful... Though this place can get busy. They have been for over 10 years, They are doing something right. Note: parking can be tight.

If I could give them a no star I would. Although I only went there for a Cuban sandwich which I had been craving. I placed my order through the phone, and still gave them a little time to make it considering I was only 8 mins out. When I get there the i tell the lady “Im here for a pick up.” Takes my name and tells me to hold on, goes to the back to “check” I’d assume. No she comes back doesn’t tell me anything and keeps me waiting for at least 45 mins! Or at least what it felt like, Could’ve possibly been 30 mins. Luckily I speak Spanish as well. The same lady that took my order over the phone and told me to hold on, was having a wonderful conversation over the phone let alone a personal conversation. It wasn’t until the other girl saw me waiting that she approached me and asked if I had a pick up. She helped me out and what not still had to wait on the other rude one case she took my order so she had to process the order. Waited about 8 mins for her to come back again to say it just got out. When I finally got home and ate I bit into what felt like 2 dry rocks as bread and the driest piece of meat I had ever ate. Had no Mayo, nothing at all just dry hard rock bread, dry meat, dry lettuce and chips strips. I do not recommend this place at all for they are highly unprofessional, and DO NOT care about...

Very, very poor attitude from waitress. She didn't smile, didn't speak nor understand any English when serving customers. This was the first time I had been there with childhood friends I had not seen in over 48 years. One of them had even suggested this place because he & his wife had eaten there many times before. He and I noticed this waitress' attitude, and he acknowledged he will not be returning to this restaurant. I did not leave a tip. (I hope the owner reads this review. My friends and I were there around 12:15pm, and we were sitting in the middle.) When the waitress came back with our bill, I told her my bill was separate, but she couldn't even get that right. I told my friends I was not going to leave a tip, but unfortunately my friend's younger brother left the waitress a tip. I for one will not be returning to this restaurant even if my friend suggest's it. Oh, and BTW, the bacon tasted old and not crunchy or well done. Overall, this restaurant receives a very poor rating from me. If I could give them a zero,...

I am disappointed in my entire experience today at this restaurant. I have been there many times before and it was never as it was today. I will not return. The Cuban sandwich was thrown together. (after I was told that there wasn’t any bread which I pointed out three on the top of the counter) while waiting the coffees I ordered were not made instead the waitress sat down in front of me and continued to eat her pasta. She was slurping and biting off the pasta (rather than use a fork & spoon like a lady or eat in the back or heck made the coffees I ordered) the salads were packed with the fresh out of the fryer empanadas. The Piccadillo (2 orders) was filled with grease. Overall a completely sad and dissatisfying experience. Oh and apparently the Cuban which had never been buttered before being placed on the press had bologna. My guy was not happy and asked me to never go there again. I did...
