Panaderia Oaxaqueña — Restaurant in Cape Girardeau

My fiancé and I stumbled across this place a few weeks ago. Today was our fourth time ordering. Each time has been for delivery. Although the food is very good, the service is horrendous. I saw a few reviews saying that they deliver small amounts of chips, but the first 2 times we had not had problems. Last week for dinner we ordered food that included two things of queso dip. Our food arrived and only came with half of a bag of broken up chips. We called and they said we would need to come in for more chips. We ordered delivery for a reason…we aren’t going to drive and fix your mistake! Anyways…we made an order tonight and figured we would call to ensure they put chips in the bag. Well, the first guy answers and had no idea what I’m saying. I’m sympathetic of the language barrier, but if you can’t understand me…don’t just hang up the phone. So I call again after being hung up on and the dude hangs up on me again. I call a third time and I’m sent to voicemail. Finally, I call a fourth time and a new guy answers, completely ignores what I’m saying or doesn’t understand and continues yelling into the background with others in Spanish. THEN HANGS UP!! Like come on…show some respect to your customers. We ended up asking our delivery guy to make sure chips are in the bag…we will see what happens. So unprofessional! Do not answer the phone if you know you are just going to hang up because you can’t understand…get somebody...

I was excited to try because of the reviews. The food was alright but the conditions weren’t nice. The toilet didn’t have a lid on it, which really concerned me as the bathroom door remained open right next to the tables where I was eating. A lot of flies were present, so I had to protect and guard my food the entire meal. The salsa came out with a biofilm on it. The server accidentally stuck her finger in my drink while she was putting my cup down. I ordered street tacos. The chicken was dry. I really liked the red and green sauces on the side! That was my favorite part of the meal. I’ll try again...

We read an article in the local paper about this new restaurant in town, and checked it out that same night. I am so glad we did - this place is FANTASTIC!. The prices were great, and the menu had a wide variety of options that are sure to appeal to any palate. The mole was richly flavorful, and all of the different meats we got were well-seasoned and delicious. The entire experience was delightful from start to finish, with a bright, happy atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fresh made, tasty Mexican food, because that's exactly what...
