Southeast Mo District Fair — Local services in Cape Girardeau

Semo District fair is a must every year. The armed forces make appearances. Sometimes there's cool motor homes and trailers to tour alongside interesting antique farm equipment.

Livestock and horse shows are all very cool but it's really the food that a lot of people come for.

Italian sausage sandwiches, fresh ribbon fries, funnel cakes, elephant ears and whatever you can poke a stick in and fry make it completely worth it.

Entrance fee is $5 per person but if you show up late, you have a good chance of getting in free. Parking is no cost. There's a few atm machines scattered around. Most food vendors only take cash. Some take debit and credit but not as many...

I love going to this place every year and riding the new rides they have, but I just wished they'd put in a wild mouse coaster, there hasn't been one in missouri in basically years before the 2000s ever came, and since I was born in 2008, and despite going out my missouri state a number of times, i never got to actually ride one. And I feel like if they can put in a big wacky worm coaster in their fair, with just a little added space for it, they could install one without fail, hopefully this year they'll put one in...

I had a fun fair date night with my bf here! I do however wish they had brought the actual ferris wheel this year instead of that small 2 level ferris wheel that was more of a thrill ride. Didn't seem like it was very safe. The structure was swaying a little and when we got to the bottom at one point the operators tried tightening a bolt on one of the other seats and said "that's as tight as its gonna get". Just didn't seem safe. Bring back the actual ferris...
