Semo District fair is a must every year. The armed forces make appearances. Sometimes there's cool motor homes and trailers to tour alongside interesting antique farm equipment.
Livestock and horse shows are all very cool but it's really the food that a lot of people come for.
Italian sausage sandwiches, fresh ribbon fries, funnel cakes, elephant ears and whatever you can poke a stick in and fry make it completely worth it.

Read moreI had a fun fair date night with my bf here! I do however wish they had brought the actual ferris wheel this year instead of that small 2 level ferris wheel that was more of a thrill ride. Didn't seem like it was very safe. The structure was swaying a little and when we got to the bottom at one point the operators tried tightening a bolt on one of the other seats and said "that's as tight as its gonna get". Just didn't seem safe. Bring back the actual ferris...
