This place is not consistent. Usually, it's pretty good. BUT...Not today!! Chips tasted burnt, salsa was very bitter. And, unfortunately, I decided to order something I have never ordered before...El Barco. Looked good on the menu...grilled chicken, shrimp and beef strips with nacho cheese and pico de gallo. BUT...it was NOT good!! The beef strips were ALL tough rubbery pieces of gristle and did not look like beef to me. The shrimp smelled and tasted like it had gone bad. And the grilled chicken was also tough and extremely overcooked. It was horrible and I could not eat it. I asked to see the manager, but he/she never took the time to stop by, so that we could discuss my concerns. On the other hand, the waiter was very helpful and returned the food and brought out my usual... El Burro de la Roqueta. For my trouble... they did not charge me for the El Barco. No discount, no apology from Manager. There are plenty of other Mexican...
Read moreThe guacamole and chips. I must say the chips were fantastic. The guacamole was probably rated the worst I've ever had in my entire life. It is sour cream with a green coloring and no spices. I ordered a steak salad presentation in the food was delicious. My point is, this guacamole, for the price should never, ever be sold at this location again. With a return, definitely the place. That's great parking, very clean and polite servers. I'm confused why there's a bar there, but it's not open and there's a grocery store in the rear. Which looks very inviting real authentic mexican food. My three star rating is only because of the disappointment of the guacamole. When I talk to I believe the general manager or possibly the owner about the situation you would. It was more than kind and we came to an A. Gentlemen's agreements. He's hoping I return.Maybe next time I will give a...
Read moreThis was the second time I ate there and it was not up to my standards either time. The first time I ordered stake tacos. There was NO seasoning at all on the stake, plus it tasted like the meat was boiled instead of being cooked on a grill. To drink I asked for horchata, and when I got it it tasted watered down. So I asked for Coke. This time I ordered the mojara (talapia) I figured I would get it like a normal Mexican restaurant would fix it, but no! It came as 2 talapia filets battered and fried, plus it didn't taste all that good, and the rice had an odd taste about it. To drink I had Dr. Pepper and it tasted like there was mold in the drink machine or...
