Lili Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Carol Stream

I had just left a review somewhere else about how I've never had a restaurant that served both ramen and sushi where the ramen was actually decent, but there's a first time for everything, right?

The restaurant itself is quaint, but comfortable and has a nice ambience. I sat right in front of the sushi making area so I had a nice little show while I ate. The server was nice and took my order quickly and checked in on me enough.

I had ordered both a miso ramen and a couple pieces of tamago nigiri. Funny enough, while my usual complaint is the ramen at a sushi restaurant, today it's more of a small complaint about the sushi! The sushi itself didn't taste bad at all. It was well-made, in fact. My only "complaint" was that the tamago was still very cold from the fridge, but still really tasty. It didn't affect my overall experience.

The ramen was great and the presentation was really nice. I'm really fond of miso ramen in general and they made it really well here.

Noodles: The noodles are thinner, springy, and chewy. They were pleasant to eat and tasted amazing. They had a nice neutral taste that went well with the broth.

Broth: The broth was rich and savory and had a good miso flavor. It was served perfectly hot.

Toppings: The pork tasted like it was marinated well and was nicely braised. The egg wasn't marinated in anything and was a plain soft boiled egg. The bamboo shoots also tasted good on their own. I also enjoyed the corn last in the broth. Everything worked well both separately and together.

Overall, I was very pleased with Lili Sushi & Ramen! I'll definitely be coming back to enjoy the other bowls of ramen...

We came here in the hunt for some sushi. We saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered the mango lemonade and oh my goodness. It was so good!! We didn’t expect it to taste like it was made fresh. Then we ordered the crab Rangoon. I’m not a huge fan but my boyfriend is. When I say it was delicious, It was delicious and that’s coming from someone who just said isn’t a bag fan. Again It was so good. They were really stuffed too. We then got the spicy tuna roll, carb meat roll, and the crunchy salmon roll. I’m not sure what the chef sprinkled on the rolls but they were amazing. The salmon one was so light and the burst of flavor was amazing. The spicy tuna was perfect just like a classic should be. The carb one was my favorite. Everything inside blended so well. Literally whatever they sprinkled on top was so crunchy and delicious. The presentation was a 10/10. They served us on this wooden platter that we were able to spin. Made eating even easier and more enjoyable. Lastly we ordered the mango mochi. We were on a roll from the mango lemonade and we choose right. It was served on this long plate with sprinkles a small amount of whip cream and chocolate syrup drizzled with two or the cuties forks I’ve ever seen. I felt like we were celebrating with how well it was plated. The mochi was delicious, no surprise there. Everything that accompanied the mochi was the perf amount added to it. The staff was very friendly and the server was very attentive to us and made sure we were always good! A new favorite for us. We’ll def eat here again and especially for special...

Let me start by saying WOW! This place is by far one of the BEST places I've had the pleasure of having sushi at. This is hands down my New favorite spot. Let's begin the breakdown. Cleanliness: Inside was VERY CLEAN and in order, especially for the type of food being served. Wait time: It was NOT a long wait for our food, especially knowing that to prepare sushi takes time and presentation was FANTASTIC! The Chef prides himself in the detail of what he prepares and you'll see that in the pictures. Service: We had so many questions and as there were other people eating inside and people picking up food (SARAH) our server still made time to show us food, explain our options, and even give recommendations according to what we liked! Even at closing time we were not rushed at all so we enjoyed our meal. If you have time to stop by I highly recommend you do. 🍣 DINE IN IS OPEN! 👍🏽
