I’m not one for leaving negative reviews, but Google Reviews led me astray on this food experience. We arrived at Perla Del Oriente around 7:30pm on Tuesday evening to grab dinner. We weren’t sure if we were going to dine in or takeout initially.
Upon ordering, the host was impatient and tapped her fingers on the counter while we sorted through the menu. There were no people in line behind us, so we weren’t being rude. I wanted shrimp fried rice, but all I saw on the menu was Camarones Frito. I asked about item in decent Spanish (English is my first language) and the host wrote down my order and threw it across the cook line to be fulfilled before I could clarify my order. My husband ordered pepper chicken. The food was ready in less than ten minutes — this is why I’ve given the overall service 3 stars. When the order was up, she asked what we wanted to drink. Giving no parameters, she quickly shouted NO when we asked if Malta was included. Fine. Not a problem.
We were so put off by the customer service that we took our food and ate at home. This restaurant certainly packs quantity over quality. The rice was super deep fried and cooked with pork. It is greasy spoon Chinese food not worthy of 4.5 stars on Google. Just go eat local...
