Betty Kaye Bakery — Restaurant in Carrollton

I ordered a cake a couple of weeks ago, and picked it up today: a cherry chocolate birthday cake with lilac coloured buttercream, lavender sugar sprinkles, white roses and a “happy birthday” monogram, with a dozen cupcakes to match. The lady who took my order said that she didn’t know if the baker would be willing to do all of this, and I had no idea what to expect. We had our party this afternoon. The cake(s) was delicious, delicate, beautifully elegant and just what I had imagined in my cracked noggin. The birthday girl (a middle aged woman who claims to be five) was delighted to tears; she said that she’s never received such a wonderful cake.

Almost as impressive as the cake itself, was that it was $15 less than what I had budgeted.

This is the third time I’ve ordered a birthday cake from Betty Kaye’s, and they never disappoint. So...

The cutouts were amazing but then we got to the brownies and they were so dry i had to chug a water after eating half. I understand that you may not be able to sell all the brownies you make in one day but make a smaller batch. The brownie i was given today is shocking due to its state of being hard along with the icing and dry. These used to be the best brownies ever and i dont know whats going on. Its been like this the past couple of times i've went but i continued to come back in hopes they would be soft and like they used to be but today was ridiculous. The worker is super friendly and very helpful only bad thing is the brownies. I come to bakeries to get baked goods to have for a day or two so i want them fresh, why would i want 3 day old brownies when i bought them a couple...

The "cut out" cookies at the Betty Kaye Bakery are a soft but firm sugar cookie with a thin layer of colorful decorator frosting. If I lived in the area, I would bring several dozen to every family and community gathering! I was delighted with the hint of lemon and the wonderful crumbly texture as I chewed. They do not form a "pasty" feel or texture in your mouth. I also tried & highly recommend the pecan tarts, tea cookies and mint frosted brownies.
