Deli On The Square — Restaurant in Carrollton

We flew in from Chicago for a wedding and had not had lunch. We were driving thru town and saw the "Deli" sign and decided to stop in.... we were sure glad we did! The meatloaf sandwich was terrific and the salads and wraps were sooo fresh and delicious!

Laura (the owner) stopped by our table and we had a nice chat and enjoyed learning about her Deli. It was getting close to closing and she surprised us with a "goody" bag of blueberry crumb cake and carrot cake! We shared it with the folks that had traveled to the hotel for the wedding and they were blown away with how good everything tasted!

Laura, thank you so much for your hospitality ! Our only regret is that we could not live close by to enjoy your weekly specials!

My wife noticed this place from the outside while we were walking around the square. She had a good feeling about it even just at a glance at the outside while they were closed. We went in the next day with hopes we would find an excellent place to frequent when in town, and we were not let down. They had a white peach dumpling desert that our pickiest eating child raved about loudly (it was very good). The staff was upbeat, and very nice. They went above and beyond. If a small town is looking to keep locals and visitors coming in, it is businesses like these that will be cornerstones of that effort. 1st time here but won't be my last. We had the special which was BBQ chicken panini with a side dish, and special it certainly was! It was excellent. Portion size almost too much for the $$. I am not a bread pudding fan but this banana foster bread pudding is to die for. I will definitely be watching for that to be on the menu again. And to top things off, service was super. The owner came to every table and was extremely pleasant. Even the young girl that was cleaning off the tables and bringing you whatever you needed was friendly and all smiles!! I definite must try is you are anywhere close...
