Bubba-N-Frank's Carrollton — Restaurant in Carrollton

Last year or so I wrote a less than stellar review of Bubba & Franks Carrollton location... it had been pretty good at the start, but had gone sharply down hill once the new locations had begun opening up. Had numerous problems with both food and service during this time... bad enough that we were really ready to throw in the towel. - Well, I’m here now to say that, over the past year, the food quality and the service at the Carrollton location are back up to their original high quality... in fact, I’d say it’s now even better than it was before! We eat here quite frequently and enjoy everything we’ve had on the menu (and we’ve had almost everything!).... Especially love the ribs, the pork bbq, the nachos (both the old and the new).... and those chicken tenders!! Oh, and the fresh cut fries are da bomb! Other sides are pretty good too. And now that they handmake their hamburger patties and smoke them fresh (not frozen), their burgers are SO YUM!!! (Bubba burger is my absolute fave!) But the biggest improvement has been in their food consistency and in their overall service... they’ve come a LONG way in the past year! Gone from a place my family and I nearly gave up on, to one of our favorite regular restaurants! - If you enjoy good food, friendly people and a comfortable “mom & pop” kind of atmosphere, you’ll really love Bubba & Franks! - Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.... Keep up the good...

Bubba N Franks is great!! I went today for the first time and love the place. On walking in the aroma of the smoked meats was fantastic. A man behind the counter (who I think is one of the owners) greeted us and asked if it was our first time there. When I said yes - he said welcome and let us know if we can help you with anything and directed us to the spot to order food. I had a coupon for 1/2 off the second entree (From Recycle Perks) and my printer broke - so I asked the girl at the register If I could email her the coupon - she said no need and gave us the 1/2 off no problem.

I got the Beef Brisket Platter and Monica got the BBQ platter. Both were fantastic. Plenty of food and it was delicious. Sides were great too. I had broccoli and tater salad. Broccoli was not mush like at a lot of places - great. Tater Salad tasted home made and great. I tried Monica's cole slaw and it was great too.

Hush puppies come with the dishes and were delicious also.

The St Louis BBQ sauce that I added was great!!

This place has some of the best pulled pork bbq that you can find in Virginia. You can order it 2 ways, North Carolina style or st Louis style. I recommend the North Carolina style, you won't be sorry. Fresh cut fries are great as are the chicken n dumplings and the Brunswick stew. Oh and the Cole slaw is great. Now the bad, the pulled bbq chicken is not good, too dry as is the beef brisket. They advertise their burgers as smoked but they taste like a regular burger and you can also tell they are frozen patties and not fresh. The smoked wings are really disappointing, they smoked them then deep fry them, problem is they fry them to death! The result is hard rubbery skin and dry leather like meat! I finally gave up on ordering them when the manager told me they couldn't cut back on the fry time. What? He said they had to fry them that long and he wasn't allowed to change the timer for them. So if you want a great pulled pork sandwich with side of Cole slaw and fries, then this is your go to, anything else I would say order at...
