TLDR: Lady refused to sell me more than four tacos, because it would be too much to eat. I guess she knew the food was going to be awful and didn’t want me wasting my money.
First impressions:
Reviews had this place at 4 stars, and it has a clean store front. I figured it was a solid option for lunch. Walked in to an empty restaurant (only to go orders). I guess the sewage smell coming from the restrooms makes people want to leave.
During visit:
I was greeted by this Older Hispanic looking lady. After my coworker placed his order he was promptly rushed away even though we were ordering together. I tell her I want to order 6 tacos (3 fajita, 2 pastor, and barbacoa), but the lady told me it was too much food. She claimed three tacos was enough. I thought she was joking, because I don’t understand the logic behind telling a customer to order less food. I’m literally trying to spend more money, therefore giving you more business. She insisted I only get at most 4 tacos because it would be too much to eat. Now I don’t know about most people, but tiny street tacos are not very filling especially for someone who doesn’t eat breakfast. Moreover, other reviews clearly state just how small the portions are. Regardless, if it is too much food then I’ll take with me or throw it away. I mean I am paying for them; I’m not asking for a handout. I gave her a look that definitely got my displeasure across. Who does she think she is trying to prevent me from spending more money. I told her I knew what I was ordering and that I still wanted what I ordered. She said no. After flat out refusing to take my complete order that i originally wanted to place, she proceeded to not give me a receipt. I don’t even know how much she charged me or if she added a tip for herself. She didn’t even let me pick the tacos. She gave me 3 beef “fajita” and a pulled pork. I only wanted the three fajitas because I was getting the other three different meats to try them. So instead of being able to sample the meats she gave me 3 beef fajita which she charged .25 more per taco and gave me a pulled pork which I did not order. I told her it didn’t matter what she thought, i still wanted the 6 tacos. She said no. I told her i know what I’m ordering. She said no. She said if I wanted more to come back up and order more. As if I would want to go back up to the counter and talk to her her again.
I had to go back before I left to get a receipt, because I wanted to see what she charged me for. I will not be coming back.
Food:
Tacos were greasy and tasted old. Almost like they just microwave what they cook in the mornings. You can see the grease on the taco in the picture. The tacos were as greasy as they were bland: needs salt or other seasoning. “Beef fajita” more like chopped cheap cuts of beef boiled with no salt. They call it ribeye and charge .25 more per taco. The charo beans were also bland. I’ve had canned beans with more flavor, and that would be a better more welcomed option. Tortillas stale and cold wasn’t given the option to pick between...
Read moreTry their fish tacos! Pretty good for for $9! They've added wings to the menu.
The line and service was quick. They take orders quickly and give our the meals in bulk which is smart. The location is small, but their decorations make the inside of their restaurant a nice home touch. The food was well priced with reasonable amount of food. Their taco plate comes with 3 tacos made of corn with your choice of meat. I chose pastor, Pollo y carne bisket. Their Pollo and pastor was shredded. The Pollo was dry and not flavorful. The pastor felt some what dense but lacking in spice. It dripped it's juices yet it didn't help its credibility of being delicious. The bistek was the best one. Avoid their Pollo option. It comes with sides of rice and beans. The beans were good! Get the beans "a la charra". I just wish their sizing was a bit bigger . The plate comes with 3 tacos rice+beans a cooked jalapeño cebolla and diced tomato on the side. It's all really good for the price of...
Read moreI liked my first experience going here so I was making this restaurant a regular lunch spot for takeout but the last two times I went here I found stuff in my food. First it was a ripped piece of paper/napkin and the second time it was a long blonde strand of hair. Both of these things I found at the bottom of my food so under everything and I had eaten alot of my food so I am extremely grossed out. Both times had been the Super Nachos Chicken kind.
The first time I was offered a remake which was fine and I did the remake with no issues. The second time though I did ask for my money back and refused the remake as I honestly felt sick to my stomach. I am no longer going to eat here anymore as I do not want to eat hair/paper. The workers were super nice and kind about everything. It's unfortunate that I had this experience as this place makes really tasty food for...
