4 stars for food for it's always been very good. 3 stars (only because I allotted for how busy they were & 4 stars for the atmosphere for it is pleasant. We sat @a Hi-Top table 4 a long time B4 anyone came over. Bartenders was very busy yet other employees could have helped him out, especially when there's a hostess. He forgot the pricier, table guacamole appetizer, etc. I tip well so he deserved an OK tip 4 trying, yet our friend over tipped (math error) so the bartender got lucky. I was never disappointed here B4 yet this time was a whopper. I was surprised the bartender waited on us 4 he was far to busy. If it was food service at the bar, then OK, Yet Not table service when so busy for far too many people end up on the short end when it comes to the service one receives & Not just us. Needless to say I was shocked and greatly disappointed. I don't mind paying or even over tipping a bit from time to time when it comes to good so needless to say I was also shocked when our friend tipped out a good 40-45% instead of 15 to 20%. I wanted to pay the bill but he insisted and like I said I felt the bartender did deserve a tip for trying so hard yet not that much upon receiving pretty poor service. I am Customer service oriented so I'm a little harder on people then I should be sometimes. The acronym/word tips stands for:...To ensure proper service. So if one does not receive proper service then one should tip according to the amount of received. Over tipping gives others the idea they don't have to give good or decent service when they receive double the amount of what a normal tip Intel's. Leaves the server with the wrong idea, therefore possibly creates an idea one should expect to receive a healthy tip even after the service provided is acceptable when it truly isn't. At least it's not when it comes to higher prices, less service and others who are expecting a tip no matter what kind of service they provide. It's among those terrific great awesome outstanding service I definitely over tip. When someone's trying yet so busy I still tip decently. Yet when someone is lazy, not trying, etc and I know they've been like that before and never said thank you for a tip that's when I put my foot down. When others find it so hard to say thank you when they're tipped, especially if they didn't deserve it, it is then that I really do have to force myself to not tip. Tipping is huge to me, it makes all the difference in your income. So if any Server doesn't care about providing good service, and you can tell when one really doesn't care, yet they expect a tip and a good one at that then they should learn to appreciate that which is given for the service received instead of not even caring giving terrible service and expecting a good tip from. In other words, hand it out no matter how one's treated. That does not...
Read moreWow…. (Not a Good wow)Where do I even start. We have visited San Marcos numerous times and it is normally a good experience. This time was a nightmare. We had a party of 10 that consisted of 5 kids and 5 adults. The server was JORGE GARCIA(worse service ever) we ordered our meals and everything was great at this point. The food came and there was issues right away received Tacos instead of taquitos fine we will just tell them no problem. WE tell Jorge and he decides to argue and say NO that’s what you ordered and rolled his eyes at us. Probably rolling his eyes reading this. I remember and didn’t want to swap it out. The kids whose meal it was said that’s fine I’ll eat it. We get to the end of our meal and unfortunately the food here has gone down hill just like the service but we didn’t complain. We got our check and it was two different families and the check needed to be split. Jorge said we don’t do that here with his same attitude as before…. I said I know you can you have before and I need you to do that. He storms off and looks like he doesn’t know how to operate the computer. It takes him several minutes. He comes back with the two separate checks and things are looking great oops spoke to soon. The kids meals were on there and not free like they were supposed to be on Tuesdays. I go to tell him and once again Jorge is ready to give attitude. He tells me I’m wrong and there was not enough adult meals to cover the kids meals…… I told him there’s 5 adults and 5 kids and that it is really simple math. He gives me an eye roll and goes back to the computer and looks baffled. He then slams the check in my hand and ask is this right? Needless to say one of my favorite places In town is no more and I’ll have to find a New restaurant. If I ran this place Jorge Garcia should maybe be moved to dish washing as customer service might not be his strong...
Read moreI don't know what people see in this place. The margarita was good but not worth $13. The fajitas were hands down the worst I've ever eaten. They had no seasoning and veggies were hot but not cooked. Meat was just gray like steamed meat. How can they serve this.. Chips are stale, salsa taste like they used spoiled tomatoes with fresh cilantro. I have had the guac here and it's kinda cool that they mix it in front of you but that was 5+ years ago. Not sure they do that anymore. But the service .. This was the last time for me My previous visit here 5 years ago we waited 40 minutes after our food came for forks to eat it with. This time we got forks but mostly ignored and the hostess ignored us for 10 minutes while we stood there waiting to be seated and then wasn't sure what to do. Couldn't really hear her talk anyways but the RBF was killing me. Not overly busy. But couldn't be bothered to actually serve guests. Server we had was fairly friendly once she actually showed up but in general didn't check on us often. I...
