Spires Restaurant — Restaurant in Carson

Yesterday went for an early dinner. We've gone there a few times recently. They've remodeled. Pre covid were at a minimum weekly customers. I miss the lunch counter or the counter and also being able to see the Cooks. Our waitress is Lubia she's been our favorite for many years. She knows us so well she can almost guess what we're going to ask for. She's just the best waitress they have in my opinion. The food was excellent. The soups are the best. I always get one to go for my dad. Yesterday when we went to pay there was an older gentleman ordering take out. It was taking a bit of time. The cashier is taking order. She is asking questions and he is answering. He was uncomfortable, he sensed she wasn't getting the order correctly. Lubia was waiting on customers, however he said she always waits on him and knows their preferences. They went back and forth for several minutes. I asked her to get Lubia because he was uncomfortable with her. She was visibly angry. Got Lubia and the order was placed correctly. Turns out he was ordering a senior meal. She said he did not say that loudly, and rolled her eyes while letting out a loud sigh. Lubia made eye contact with me and mouthed sorry. This girl was young and desperately needed training. Today I had to cancel my food, i been a loyal customer for years, as a trucker every time I'm closed by I get my breakfast and coffee to go since I have to hit the road right away, so never had any issues until today I walk in and I see a new guy at the front desk taking orders and as always I place my order and go use the restroom, but today the guy refused to let me use the restroom because I can put them at ah high risk of infecting them, come on I understand the epidemic so I take care of myself and others by using gloves , a mask, how not let me use the restroom is helping when by not doing so is putting myself at risk and others.. this needs to change at least let us us truckers used the restroom so we can...

I ordered yesterday around 7:50 pm 2 classic cheeseburgers one with rice & other with onion rings & chicken strip dinner with mashed potatoes& chicken strips were so small and burnt mashed potatoes was more like an old baked potatoe with all kinds of salt & I ordered a side of chicken strips with mashed potatoes and gravy and the food was so hard as rock I will never go buy food from spires again !!
