Vida — Restaurant in Carter Lake

This place was amazing when it first opened several years ago. So I struggled on whether to write a review. I went a few days ago and boy has it gone down. Prices have gone up, ok I get that. But for the quality of the food totally not worth it. I got the pick 2 combo w/beef fried taco and beef enchilada, rice/beans. The beef was unseasoned and tasteless, my fried taco shell tasted stale. We ordered queso dip to go with the complimentary chips and salsa (which was ok). The queso was in a tiny cup for $5.99!! Are you kidding me! The margarita was a mix out of a slushy machine. I asked for on the rocks, I was told they don’t make margaritas on the rocks. Which is bs cause I have had it there in the past. Oh and the menus are gross and sticky. I did not want to touch them. This used to be an awesome place. So sad to see it go...

After passing this place up over and over we decided to stop and check it out I had the nacho and my sweetheart the enchiladas. As we're eating I said "they got _ beat with the nachos", they are awesome!!! My sweetheart said he would be going back in a disguise because he didn't want to seem greedy. Lol... I would give them 5 stars on this trip because the food was delicious, the service was customer friendly, the dining area clean, and timing was good. We didn't wait but 7-8 minutes. The food was hot and fresh!!! I most definitely will be going back!!! They have a menu of variety and sell alcohol if that's your choice. It's not too often that full service receives a 5 start rating but this place can get it all around!!! Check it out, you won't be disappointed!!! Prices are good and your plate...

This place is a cute little place hidden over in Carter Lake on Locust St. The portions are huge. The price is decent. The flavor though....it's lacking. The meat needed to be seasoned better, the rice needed salt and pepper added and the guacamole was mostly tasteless (also way too smooth. Good guacamole should be chunky. This stuff was pureed.)

I dont do heat, but usually most of the Mexican places I visit have a lot of flavor. The steak for the Carne Asada was a little dry. There was no juices.

The one thing they did get right was an excellent amount of grilled onions that definitely helped, but even those were missing much flavor.
