El Nopal is not my favorite. In my opinion there are several better quality Mexican restaurants in the Cartersville/Acworth Area. However it is close to my FiancƩ's work & we enjoy the .99 Cent taco Tuesday.

I am not big on getting tacos from restaurants. I usually get a burrito, enchiladas, or a house special item. However at El Nopal I have tried MANY different items in search for something of quality with quality flavor. ... I have not found it. This past Tuesday I said ALRIGHT I am going to try the tacos! šŸ˜‚ I got one chicken & one beef. I have to say they were not bad. Next taco Tuesday we go to i will definitely be getting the 99 cent chicken soft tacos. The chicken had a good flavor, (not the best I've ever had, but good) and it was moist. I paired my tacos with Valentina hot sauce and was very pleasantly surprised! * I do not recommend the authentic tacos * Authentic street tacos are my favorite šŸ˜ I tried them here and was VERY disappointed. If you want some AMAZING street tacos try El Don in Woodstock! You will not be disappointed! šŸ˜‰ you're welcome!😊

Other notes:

The chips here are on the thicker side. The salsa is not spicy. The queso is yummy.

The service here is typically slow, several times we have waited quite awhile to be greeted/see our server. And sometimes is it hard to get the server to come back. I highly suggest telling your server everything you need the first time.

The food however usually comes out pretty quickly after your order is placed.

Overall I have mixed feelings about El Nopal. Personally if I get to choose the restaurant I would never choose here. But that is just me! I know many people who LOVE El Nopal lol I think they are a little crazy šŸ˜‚ but to each their own! Happy Eats everyone! Don't...

This was my first experience here and it was fine, but I probably won’t be back.

FOOD: -The prices were just fine. There are some good combination specials, etc. However, the value for your money was mediocre. -I ordered the fajita burrito. I was disappointed that it contained GIANT chunks of veggies. They aren’t even bite sized. I had about a half of a Roma tomato in my burrito. Also, for the price, I would have expected rice and beans or at the very least, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. -My son ordered two plain beef tacos and cheese dip. You can’t mess it up. And they didn’t. He enjoyed it!

SERVICE: As other reviewers have stated, service is lacking. Our waiter was nice, but we were in a corner in front of a busy breezeway (with the kitchen to my back). Our waiter stood behind me so that I had to turn nearly 180 to look him in the eye. The food was prompt, but our waiter never revisited to check on us or refill our beverages. We were very much an after thought.

ATMOSPHERE: There are few things I hate more than LED daylight bulbs. It’s the quickest way to bring the vibe down. The mood lighting above the tables is very nice, but these high, backlights are just dreadful. However the booth seats are private and comfortable.

BATHROOMS: Not great. They are dirty and not well cared for. There is a diaper table outside of a stall. The lighting is also dreadful in there.

TIPPING: The tipping suggestion at the bottom of the receipt is a tip on top of tax. It’s negligible, but purposefully deceitful. You are meant to tip on...

The waitress and food is substandard at this resturant. I ordered steak fajitas with no tomatoes. Not even 5 min later, the waitress puts my plate down, looks at it, shrugs and walks away. It's covered in tomatoes and half the vegtables are not even cut up. I have 2 halves of a green pepper (the size of my palm) not cut up and tomatoes mixed in with it. Meat is tough as nails and overcooked. When the waitress finally comes back by and I point out the tomatoes...her only response was sorrrry. This is the third time, I've been here and received service like this. Each time my order or someone else's order at the table is incorrect.. It seems as a single female.. can not get a correct order and decent service, but they will stand there, laugh and cut up with the men and go above and beyond good service and making sure their order is correct. Don't know, if they just don't care or they think a woman will not tip well. Which is sad, because I usually tip at least 25 to 35 percent tip. Compared to the usual 20 percent . Thankfully, this will be my last visit. The only reason I even came in the first place was due to receiving a gift card, for my 50th birthday. There are several other establishments that give single patrons excellent service. I would rather spend my money there.. at least they will get my food correct and offer to re-cook it, if it's incorrect. Really sad, we can't have a decent Mexican restaurant on the west...

This a place you literally can only go to on their busiest days because that's the only time you get the full experience. So if it is not Taco Tuesday, Sunday or futbol game day do not waste your time or money as I just did. Unfortunately I went an hour and half before closing and asked for a chicken soup and 5 street style chicken Tacos and after reassuring the to-go waitress that I wanted 5 I get home and see that I have only 3 chicken tacos. So I paid $30 for for that was supposed to be $16. If you do go here, check ALL of your food and do not pay for your food until AFTER you have made sure it's correct. I would hate for this major inconvenience to happen to anyone else. I will no longer be doing business at this branch. Hopefully another has more proficient service as this is not the first or 3rd time I've had a problem here.

I came at 8:15 and order the food. The server was quick to ask about alcoholic drinks but did not bother to ask us about the water. He was busy, walking around but didn’t bother to check for basic things. It took exactly 1 hour for the food to come. I had to ask for everything like water, chips, napkins and status and then wait forever. It’s like the server didn’t enjoy doing his job. Oh, and others who came way later then us and got served within 20 minutes before our food was served. Food was mediocre at best. The other El Nopal on Cobb Parkway was incomparably better. Really dissatisfied and disappointed. Customer experience was ZERO! Oh wait, but there’s more. It took another 20 minutes for the server to bring the check after he brought the to go box.
