Typical Waffle House food so I won’t try to reinvent the wheel with a food review here except to say the grits were too runny today. I sometimes order the sausage egg and cheese grits bowl and usually have no issues but today…runny grits. Otherwise everything food wise was good.
Only difference from today vs other time I came in was that there were more employees than customers and the place was a mess! All the empty tables were not cleared off or cleaned so we had to sit at a random table and wait for someone to come clean it. Not a major problem in itself but there were plenty of employees and several just standing around lollygagginf when there were obviously things to be done, like cleaning tables. Even the almost empty bar was cluttered with dirty dishes and not wiped down.
The only thing that kept me from giving this experience a 1 star today was our server, she was pleasant and sweet and attentive and our orders were done right, fast and efficiently. I didn’t get her name but she was a brunette with some tattoos including a cool red/pink one on her arm.
We usually go to the one on Dixie Ave and 41 but they’re closed for remodeling and that place is always spot on food and service wise so I’m spoiled. Last time we came to this one though it was certainly run better. The difference is last time I was there around lunch time and today we came in...
Read moreIt kills me to say this but I hope their management sees this. I’ve been a long time Waffle House goer for years now and today was by far the worst service ever. I understand teenage summer jobs but really it was disappointing. Ive had far to many lovely servers before ranging from age but tonight was just awful. We went in around 8:30 and there was six people total counting us. And besides those four other people every single table was dirty and you could tell they’ve been that way. After finally finding a seat it took 10 minutes for someone to greet us. They were all arguing and complaining on not having a pen on them. When they could’ve just took a simple drink order. But that didn’t even happen until we almost got our food. There was five people working and one of the cooks and an older lady kept asking the two younger girls if they even greeted us and kept yelling at them to do so. I feel bad for the workers who have been there for a while and having to deal with these younger kids. They were being childish and asking for help when they weren’t even busy. I hate to say names as well but Leah and Red were horrible servers and it breaks my heart to know that my beloved Waffle House had such horrible people working for them. I only give it three stars because of every other time I go is always amazing and I feel at home. But today I felt...
Read moreCame into the restaurant and there were large parties seated and waiting for tables. My party of 3 came in, the bar was empty and so we sat down. Tammy came to us and were extremely rude saying we needed to pay attention that there was a door greeter. There was no one at the door that greeted us and we stood by the door for over 5 minutes. There was also a son and father that had sat at the other two bar stools. When I asked for the Supervisor, Rachel said she was the manager for the day. I conveyed to her that her employee was rude and unprofessional. She took her employees side instead of listening to the customers and surrounding customers regarding her door person Tammy who wasn't even at the door and NEVER even greeted us. Then when I told her I was going to file a complaint she told me I was yelling at her. I told her I wasn't yelling BUT COULD SHOW HER YELLING. She then told me to leave. This is the most unprofessional engagement I've received at Waffle House and I'll continue to contact corporate until Tammy and Rachel are dealt with accordingly. Including on all public...
