What. A. Feast! This place just opened (3/19/25) and they are off to a strong start. Offering a blend of Indian, Thai, and Chinese food (and some Nepali secret menu options) I had the opportunity to try quite a few dishes. The Chili Mo Mo was a first for me and it might be my new favorite. The mango lassi was rich and thick and the butter chicken was among the best I've had. Despite ordering a 5/10 spicy it felt a little underpowered. The seasoning though was wonderful. Aryan was one of the most attentive servers I've had (although it might be because I was the only customer). The atmosphere only gets a 3 though, only due to a lack of decoration, but I can easily see it coming up to a 5 as well in the near future. The prices were very reasonable with an average (back of napkin math) of about $15-$20. Overall, I would gladly eat here again and I will tell my neighbors to come check out Basil and Spice.
Next day lunch update. Still delicious! Baked the Naan at 350 for 7 minutes and it was just like new. The Chili Mo Mo still wonderful and the butter...
Read moreUpdating to 5 stars! Wow- Basil and Spice reached out to me after my initial review and went ABOVE and BEYOND to talk through my experience and to redo my initial order. The new order was very much improved, and was exactly how it was when we first started eating there. I have never experienced such wonderful customer service, and so we will be keeping them on our take-out list!**
When this restaurant first opened, we tried their butter chicken and it was literally the best I had ever had! It was so thick, rich amazing flavors, and I told everyone I could about how great the new place was. I have ordered it many times over the past 4 months, but the past 3 times we have ordered, it seems that they have really changed their original recipe. It is now much more watery, not rich anymore and it makes me so sad because it had been so great! I really hope they go back to how they were making it when they opened in the spring, but it will be awhile before we...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. It’s a pretty small place, but several tables and it was clean. It was possible the best butter chicken we’ve had before. We got spice level 5s (out of 10) to play it safe and it was basically not spicy, so don’t be too worried about the heat at lower levels at least. The garlic naan was good and fresh and not too oily. We also got the navratan korma which I didn’t care for but I think it’s because I just don’t like the base ingredients - my girlfriend liked it, but not as much as the butter chicken. The rice was also a little firm, a nice al dente, not too soft. I think portion sizes might be a little smaller than other places (i.e. not necessarily a ton of leftovers for one person), but at the same time probably about right cost-wise with today’s prices. They also gave us free mango ice cream when we finished eating which was delicious! I’d recommend...
