Used to love this place. Came every week, multiple times but recently I have had 5 of my orders messed up whenever a certain dude with glasses is working it seems. Not a problem when other people are working.
Also overcook/burn the patty etc whatever he can do to ruin the order for you.
Talking just a raw burger nothing else on a bun regardless of what you asked for.
I dunno how it started but it's happened way too many times to be a mistake.
I dunno if I pissed him off or something customizing an order but it not worth the gamble anymore. Guy seems pissed in general. Wasted too much money already.
First the guy was pissed I was placing orders an hour before close and started just not responding to orders and now he is just making them inedible.
If orders are intentionally being messed with I don't trust the food not to be.
It's a shame - like I said I really liked this place. Was a regular for years.
If a dude with glasses is working in the back you better hope your face doesn't piss him...
Read moreFor the longest time I thought their food was good, but overpriced. I never really went often due to the closest location being about 25 minutes from me. However, with fast food costing what it does today, this is a much better value. It's about $12 for their half pound steak burger combo when you add cheese. That's pretty much what you're going to pay for a similar sized meal at a fast food place. I'd rather come here every time given the choice. Service was excellent the last time I was at this location, with the guy at the register being so friendly and helpful with refills, extra ketchup, and asking how my day was going. Tons of toppings to choose for free, but I wish they'd use whole leaf lettuce instead of chopped pieces. Minor complaint. The fries and simple but fresh, crispy, and well salted. My family left full and happy. A great alternative to fast food and way more economical...
Read moreI stopped by for the Wednesday deal, where burgers and hot dogs are a little over $2 each. I ended up with two burgers and a hot dog for about eight bucks and some change. Can’t really complain at that price.
The burgers were surprisingly decent. Fresh, well balanced, and didn’t taste like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp since lunchtime. The hot dog was just okay. I got it grilled and topped it with ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, and chili. It was salty and a bit soggy, but still passable. Not exactly gourmet, but hey, I wasn’t expecting haute cuisine.
What really stood out was the paper order form. It felt a little old-school, almost like placing an order at the Ippudo ramen chain minus the Japan and the ambiance. No awkward interaction, just check some boxes and wait for food. I kind of respect that.
Overall, it was cheap, filling, and oddly charming. Not bad for a midweek...
