Look, we've traveled extensively in Mexico. Heck, we got married there in '96. So we've eaten our share of a number of regional cuisines.
First thing to say is that they introduced us to a new outstanding and affordable tequila. That right there is a standout when you consider it's our overwhelmingly preferred beverage. Kudos to these cats for having a discerning player.
Second thing to say is that the service was exceptionally friendly, helpful and patient. A lot of customer service people we encounter could learn a lot from these folk.
Third is that the atmosphere, while not fancy or even incredibly cultural, was relaxing and enjoyable. If we hadn't been in a position where we had to do takeout we won have hung out for some time. There was just a nice vibe to the place.
So now the food. Nothing super fancy. But I was completely satisfied and their take on trying to balance the cultural differences of the populations they have to appeal to. Everything was rather tasty. Especially the asada huarache. We also got a tasty al pastor gordita and a side of really tasty refried beans. They probably added to slowly clogging arteries, but it was worth it.
Not fancy food, but certainly satisfying comfort food. Thanks for a delicious new tequila and friendly half hour. We'll be back when...
Read moreThe first time I went here, I wasn't sure what to think- they don't do things the same way all the other Mexican restaurants do. No chips and salsa when we sit down? Fries instead of rice and beans? I was dubious, but I was WRONG! Their staff is so friendly and offer great suggestions if you're indecisive, happily accommodate reasonable substitutions/requests, and genuinely want their customers to have an excellent experience.
Their street tacos and fish tacos are all amazing, but their ceviche is their best kept secret! It's listed under appetizers, but it's a full meal, especially if you ask for chips instead of the standard tostada. They make excellent drinks and check in often to make sure you have everything you need and that your beverage glasses stay topped off.
Give this place a try. Their food is delicious, the place is spotless, and the smiling service will keep you...
Read moreDH and I like to visit the Winthrop area every year and we like to come home via Highway 97 to get back home to Everett. We were hungry and happened to drive through Cashmere and I noticed this very unique looking Mexican place. Gabriel, the manager took excellent care of us, answering all my questions and making helpful suggestions. What an extensive menu of unique items. We split the Cuban Torta. Now I have to say, I know tortas, they are about 6 inches long, right? This one was about a foot, stuffed with not just the ham, but 6 other meats and cheese on grilled bread. They give you a half cup of pickled japapenos that were exactly perfect to layer on the sandwich! We also had the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos. Best Al Pastor and Torta I ever tasted. I wish I had brought an ice chest, I would have brought home more of the entrees, it...
