This diner is an odd experience. The waitress was cold at first, but she grew on our large group. But the waitress is not the issue here. The issue is that some of the services are shoddy, and require work to fix. Firstly, one of the people in the group I was in ordered waffles and the rest of us ordered generic, easy food (Chicken strips, etc.). We waited... And waited... And waited until the food came! An hour later, though. And we were also discouraged to see that they burned the person's waffles, so they were making a new batch. We waited a half an hour before they burned them again, so she got pancakes and they decorated them nice with syrup and whipped cream. The food is satisfactory, but it needs work.
FOOD: 3/5
The other issue was some more dirty problems with the restaurant. The bathrooms are clean, which is good to see, but the locking mechanism is odd (You push the knob in and twist it to lock.) and the door on the women's bathroom doesn't close completely. Their kitchen looks cluttered, and some of the tables have stuff on the bottom of them coming out. I also saw some cluttered boxes in an open area. But the worst part of all of this was a salt shaker. Our group inspected a salt shaker after seeing a black dot in it, and it so happens that there was an ANT in the salt! It looked like it was there for awhile, decomposing possibly.
CLEANLINESS: 2.5/5
Lastly, the food we had was satisfactory, and other people in our group loved it even, but I found it sub-par. But, as we waited one of our group members was playing with a syrup container & cut his finger. It's not his fault for cutting himself on accident, but it's a minor issue that the syrup container is sharp. Also, the butter is always warm & nearly melted and the milk in the container was untouched by us. They do, however, have a wide array of condiments, which were needed to flavor some of the food better. But, the sound system could use work, because we hardly even heard the music out of the tiny speakers they have. And also, as I said, the tables have some fur-like material coming off the bottom of them.
ATMOSPHERE: 2/5
FINAL: A high two.
It's alright, but I wouldn't recommend it as a good place to go. If you need a meal on the go, it's an...
Read moreAbsolutely heartbreaking to have to leave this review. I’ve been coming here for about 20 years. I don’t know if this place has changed ownership or something but it is not the same place it’s reputation has been built on. First of all there were bugs everywhere and was unkempt. We had to wait 20 minutes before our drinks order was even taken. Then our actual food order literally took 50 minutes to get. In that entire time the waitress walked by me about a dozen times actively ignoring me. Never even came to offer any us drinks refills, in spite of the fact all our drinks were empty from waiting. It got so bad my wife walked out and went to the bakery next door to get a muffin. When the food actually came out it was horrible. More than half of the eggs everyone ordered were way undercooked. My son’s pancakes were horrible. They tasted like raw flour. We all ordered different kinds of toast yet all the toast that came out was just white bread. I asked for the correct toast and that took another 10 minutes. It’s one thing if you’re short staffed but completely unacceptable to offer no explanation or apology. The fact that this isn’t the only poor review on here and the owners have never engaged on here with anyone speaks volumes. Never going back again. Thanks for ruining...
Read moreTerrible experience at this diner based on unsafe food handling . It’s a diner. We ordered two cheeseburgers. The waitress who was very nice asked us how we wanted our burgers cooked. We said medium . Our cheeseburgers came out really fast which surprised me. I took a bite and the inside was raw . No way this met safe temperature. I’m talking red raw. I took a photo of it in case I got sick. We called the waitress back and showed her. My wife cut hers in half before she took a bite. Hers was red raw also.We asked for new cheeseburgers . I have never sent a cheeseburger back in my life. But we can’t eat raw. It’s not safe. When the waitress brought back the new cheeseburgers they were not new. The cook had scraped the cheese off and put my burger which I took a bite out of, and my wife’s cheeseburger that she cut in half, back on the grill. Yes my cheeseburger I took a bite out of he put back on the griddle. Unbelievable . And the cook wasn’t even smart enough to put a new slice of cheese on our cheeseburgers. No cheese this time . I asked for a manager and the waitress said there wasn’t a manager. She said “ the guy who owns the diner is like 80 years old .”So I paid for our drinks and gave the waitress a tip and we walked out to find a different safer...
