My Family and I are traveling north, back home from Florida. 6 hours into our drive and we start searching Google maps for a good restuarant in the area. After reading good reviews we decided that wings are for dinner and added Carilina Wings as a stop on our GPS.
We walked in the door and was greeted immediately and directed to our table. The place was dead (4:30pm on a Saturday). A small group sat at the bar and 3-4 tables were occupied.
My wife had the boneless wing basket and chips, I had 12 wings with a basket of cheese and bacon frys, and shared with my 4 year old.
Approximately 20 minutes later a guy (the manager) was walking in our direction and had what appeared to be our food. He continued into the other room of the building, then a moment later walk past us with the same food and returned to the window behind the bar. After standing there for a second, he headed back in our direction and delivered our food (same food had carried around).
At first it was not a big deal. Until my wife had the same face of dissatisfaction as I. My wings were room temperature and my wife's were cold. The chips were very dark and chewy. The only thing close to being warm was the melted cheese on my soggy fries.
We explained to the waitress and she was very understanding, said she would have them remake the meals and make sure they're hot.
Not even 10 minutes goes by and she has returned with our food (faster then the first wait). The food was hot, I give them that, however, the wings were really tough and chewy. My wife's boneless wings could've passed as a dogs chey toy.
It was clear to me the wings were redropped into the fry basket, BBQ and all, and reheated in a poor way, instead of making the meal over again, the correct way.
The manager never came to our table to speak to us over the issue, possible because he witnessed first hand how our experience went.
We sat for about 15 minutes after eating all we could handle, then finally received our check. At just shy of $40.00 for 2 adults and a 4 year old we are extremely disappointed.
This is our seventh day on vacation and our last meal before we return home and have dinned out 1-3 times a day, for the entire duration of our trip. This was by far the worst experience we had on our entire trip.
My recommendation is : -Make QUALITY a priority when serving food.
-If you're gonna MANAGE a store, try to deliver QUALITY food. literally, not just...
Read moreThe only reason that I took one star away for Atmosphere is probably not important to the majority of people. Keep reading. Their wings are my Hubby's favorite without having to break out his deep fryer. I appreciate that they let me order from the kid's menu. The food is always super fast to arrive. There are plenty of TVs and they're happy to make sure that Your Game is on a screen that you can see. They have great prices on food, beer, and cocktails. They put a new beer on tap (and on special) every month. The well liquor does not taste like some places in 5-points. If you like a good Cape Cod, they have the best cranberry juice. There's no push to get you in and out by the servers. (Great team of girls...and 1 or 2 guys!) The bar is long and sits at least 20, probably more. There are plenty of tables and booths. I frequently see youth sports teams celebrating. There is plenty of room in the big booths for little kiddos to play around/u der the table without pushing each other off the seat. I really like the bar that's outside... but still able to be climate controlled if the weather isn't great. I've seen several family groups and after work celebrations out there. The best thing about the outside-ish area is that you can hear the Touch Tunes Jukebox out there. It's not that there is a lot of ambient noise in the main bar/restaurant, so I'm not sure why the music can't be heard in there. But outside, it's Perfect! Be sure to get there by 7pm on Tuesday and compete for gift certificates playing Music Bingo! The lady who runs it is a sweetheart, and she has her own PA. She keeps the volume just right so players can hear, but kiddos aren't bothered by it. And, she plays fair, separating each song so you don't miss anything. (Some place record a smash up style set that makes it hard to follow along. ...
Read moreThis manager needs to be fired asap... This guy has broken every rule when it comes to food safety, let alone proper etiquette of being a manager and dealing with customers . I personally witnessed this guy use the same gloves for over an hour doing disgusting things. First off I noticed him putting his entire arm in a bucket of celery and using his hands and contaminating endless customers dishes when there are a pair of tongs to use like all the other staff were using, then I personally witnessed this guy cleaning tables with dirty dishes and then sitting down at the bar and start to watch t.v. and touching his face repeatedly and then after 15 minutes of that he walked back to the kitchen and started to place his entire arm back into the bucket of celery again. This turned my stomach so I decided not to order any food at that point. Totally floored at what I had witnessed, I decided to keep watching the train wreck.. then the guy went into the back kitchen pushing the kitchen staff out of the way and started cooking with the same gloves. I have multiple pics and videos of all of this and want the health department to investigate this place. All the kitchen staff and waitresses were following protocol but not this guy. He managed to contaminate multiple people's dishes. This isn't acceptable at all, for christ sake children were eating this food. Next time you visit this establishment please make sure this guy is no where near your food. However, the kitchen staff and all the servers seemed to be doing what they were supposed to be doing. If the owner would like to see additional pics and videos of this behavior I will be happy to share it. This is...
