We visited this restaurant based on its positive reviews but were left deeply disappointed by our experience. Upon arrival, we were unexpectedly charged $25 for a small cup of octopus and an additional $25 each for two other dishes. This resulted in a total bill of $111 for three people. The establishment’s modest appearance and local clientele did not suggest such high pricing, leading us to feel misled. The Guavate is one of those legendary places your won't find anywhere else in the world. Coming here is to have a full experience of what good food and a party lifestyle is in Puerto Rico. I can guarantee that you'll find something to pique your interest in almost every single restaurant and store. The atmosphere is 100 percent authentic and the food is an amalgamation of dishes you'll find from every corner of the island. The pork highway!! It was authentic and local to the Puerto Rican’s. We ordered grilled pork, yucca (had a garlic taste to it), PR version of tamales, and rice and beans. Also Piña colada!! The food was AMAZING! This is a must if you are traveling from San Juan to Ponce or driving just because, please come and stop by this pork highway.
