On my most recent visit to Cedar City for the Utah Shakespeare Festival, I passed this place multiple times. It wasn’t until August 12 that my dad and I decided to try it. He ordered the Smoked Beef Brisket with some Chili and Mac N Cheese, and I got just a half of their rack of Baby Back Ribs. Those items cost us around $15 each, which was a good price for barbecue. Upon taking our stuff home and eating it, we had a blast. Some of my dad’s chili spilled on the brisket on our way home, but it added a surprisingly delicious flavor to it. The Mac N Cheese was also amazing, but then again, I like Mac N Cheese no matter how it’s prepared, so my opinions on the Mac N Cheese are going to be biased. As for the baby back ribs, I LOVED them! My dad told me that a properly cooked rib will just fall right off the bone. With these ribs, I could peel them off the bone without breaking a sweat. I dipped each piece I tore off into the barbecue sauce, which added to my enjoyment. Because of the experience we had, we decided that we will absolutely come again the next time we’re in Cedar City. Since this place is actually part of a larger barbecue establishment, we might consider visiting that mother location over in Enoch. This barbecue place is a prime example of a place that although easy to pass by on the road, might leave a lasting impression on you should you decide to...
Read moreWe were pleased to notice this lunch-truck style diner east of North Main was open, and we immediately diverted to pull in. We've eaten at the full Roadhouse BBQ in Enoch and were happy to learn the same BBQ chef does the meat prep for the Junior site. We both opted for the ~$15 lunch box with meaty baby back ribs. Yes! Yummy, tender, and tasty even without BBQ sauce (according to my spouse). I had the house BBQ sauce on mine, and it was perfect for the smoked meat. Today was a perfect day to sit outside at the massive picnic table with the sun behind us, and just enjoy beautifully smoked ribs. While we ate, multiple customers drove up, picked up their to-go orders, and drove off with a meal ready to eat when they...
Read moreMaybe I'm biased because I grew up in Texas but this was disappointing. The Mac n cheese was somehow both flavorless and nasty. The potato salad was plain and flavorless too, like it was just potatoes and mayo or something. Couldn't finish those sides because gross. The ribs were dry and desperately needed some BBQ sauce but the flavor profile was decent. The only thing that brought this up from 1 star to 2 was the brisket. The brisket was pretty good, not too dry and flavorful. Might return for the brisket but nothing else. Maybe I'll try...
