Parents, Read Here: Are you a suburban dad/mom that reminisces about your younger, cooler hipster days and don't want to be judged for embarking on a little Saturday day brew (that you needed to have on the previous Monday and couldn't) but still want to be a good example to "Jr." and demonstrate responsible adult beverage embarking in an environment that the kids will still love? This place is it!

Anyone who moved here after 2013. Read Here. So you wanted to move to Austin. And YOU were the cool, independent guy/gal who told your parents/friends how you found the city that finally felt like you...but you couldn't afford to get into a bidding war for a $1.2 million, 934 sq. ft. bungalow in Central Austin (that somehow all of your friends managed to find a way to live in anyways) or you just couldn't bring yourself to split a $2,700 apartment with your co-worker's pseudo friend of a friend "Peyton" in what would've been a shared single bedroom, but with that respectable decision-- now you find that access to the Austin-life can be challenging (e.g. Mopac, I-35). This place is your new Oasis.

Read moreTitle: A Vibrant Brewery with Tasty Beers, but Service Lacks Warmth
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
The Good Lot, a brewery with food trucks, offers a lively atmosphere and a good selection of beers. With ample seating and lounging areas, it's a great place to enjoy a brew and grab some dinner. However, while the beers were enjoyable, the staff's lack of friendliness and smoggy response to inquiries left something to be desired.
First and foremost, the atmosphere at The Good Lot is undeniably vibrant. Whether you're seeking a casual hangout spot or a place to socialize with friends, this brewery delivers. The ample seating and lounging areas provide plenty of room to relax and enjoy the lively ambiance. It's a welcoming environment that invites you to sit back, savor a beer, and soak in the energetic atmosphere.
Speaking of beers, The Good Lot offers a good selection to satisfy various tastes. I particularly enjoyed their hazy IPA, which delivered a delightful blend of flavors. The brewery clearly takes pride in crafting quality brews that cater to different palates. Whether you're a beer aficionado or someone looking to explore new flavors, there's likely a beer here that will pique your interest.
Unfortunately, the service at The Good Lot left much to be desired. While the beers were tasty, the staff's lack of friendliness was disappointing. When I asked about the name of a particular beer, I received a smoggy response that didn't provide the information I was seeking. It was a missed opportunity to engage with customers and showcase their knowledge and passion for their craft. Improved customer service would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience at The Good Lot.
On the positive side, the presence of food trucks is a definite advantage. The ability to grab some dinner while enjoying a pint of beer adds convenience and variety to the experience. The food truck offerings complement the brewery's ambiance, allowing guests to indulge in a satisfying meal to accompany their drinks. It's a fantastic concept that further enhances the appeal of The Good Lot as a social...
Read moreThis establishment is Profit over People. We visited on a 90 + degree evening in July to this outdoor venue and brought a water bottle that my child and baby were using and was told to put it in the car. We even dumped the water out in front of the manager and they still wouldn't allow us to fill our water bottle on site. They even had a problem with an empty water bottle in my diaper bag. Allowing sippy cups is subjective, they decide what a kids cup is. My kids drink a lot of water and I am not carrying around 5 small bottles on top of everything else. This place is not kid friendly. Just because you put out some play ground equipment does not make you kid friendly when you are putting the health of Moms, babies and kids at risk. Offering TINY water cups that you have to keep refilling on top of juggling all other parental duties like watching your kids and in my case breastfeeding is not a solution. Places that regurgitate policy just for the sake of policy without using common sense and assessing the situation are not customer focused. They mention it is TABC policy but it is not (See attached). He mentioned they had some cases where people snuck in alcohol, every adult at the table had a beer in front of them. Clearly we are not sneaking in alcohol when while speaking to the manager both my baby and kid drank from the water bottle. Not letting babies, kids and adults have adequate water supply in the Texas heat is INHUMANE. They are more concerned with their bottom line and are risking the health of the customers. They should be ashamed, especially when I read several other reviews of not letting pregnant women have a water bottle. We will never return and will also be spreading the word. I will be informing any influencers who include this place in their kid friendly list (which is how I found them). No other place in town has such an extreme water policy. Please visit places that treat customers and kids with care. We went to 5th Element Brewing and it was...
