We are self anointed, Mexican Food snobs. We eat Mexican every Sunday, without fail. So to say we were pessimistic about a “New Mexican Restaurant”, especially one in a location that had had 2 other failed Mexican Restaurants, one less than a mile from our home, is an understatement! We tried to come on Friday night and the wait was way too long. We figured there must be some sort of party going on, it could not possibly be that this place was fabulous, or could it? So we had to try it again on our Sunday funday. Started with chips and salsa, the salsa is fantabulous! Frankly if it is too spicy for you, you should not be eating salsa! The salsa is possibly the best I have ever tasted! Perfect blend of tomatoes, peppers, onions, cilantro and garlic. Next up, I decided that, upon tasting the salsa, and being very very happy, it was appropriate to commit to a drink, and to to try a margarita. I mean if a restaurant is name after one, it better be good. It did not disappoint. The perfect mix of lime and tequila. At first I thought, this is fabulous, but maybe it is weak. Upon finishing it up, and feeling a bit tipsy ( thank you goes out to my designated driver), I can say it ranks at the top of my favorite regular lime margarita ever list! We ordered the fajitas, thankfully my husband and I ordered one to share, not sure who can eat one of them alone, maybe a giant? The flavors were superb, I especially loved they there were chunks of chorizo not little ground up pieces, but rather large pieces you can stab with your fork tines! Oh, and we brought what was left over home ( FYI, the photo I post will be of our leftovers)!!! Our only disappointment was that there was no room in our tummies for dessert! I cannot wait to come back and try it! Seriously, if you like Mexican, you cannot go wrong here. I wish I could say otherwise, but only because I know this review will bring more people, and more people means longer waits for me. This place is beyond fabulous, it is fantastic, 5 star, nothing better in town! Don’t take my word for it, go try it! Oh and prices, very reasonable. $6 jumbo margarita was well worth its price!!! The 3 of us ate for $55 and that included our drink and 2 large dinner entrees, and a greater than 30% tip, because that is how fabulous it really was.. > 30% tip fabulous! Before tax it was less than $40! Thank You Mas Margarita’s for a fabulous meal, Until next Sunday Funday, if I can even wait that long!

Extensive Margarita menu, large portions, homemade corn tortillas, vegetarian options, and great music. The ambiance is beautiful with murals and colors which creates a nice vibe ✨️.

Was there last night. Waited for over 45mins to be seated but of course I guess because it was a Saturday. First time and let me say very disappointed. Got seated, waiting 15 mins before the young lady came to the table. By my lonely self, a couple came in next to me and ordered with no problem and even received their food before me which was shocking. The young lady was nice but shady meaning really didn’t won’t to be my waiter. I ordered 6 tacos $3.50 each 3 for my husband and three for me to eat there. Once I received my food after the couple, no napkins and no care in the world and mean the waitress didn’t care of my at all. The steak tacos was super tough and taste like blood literally. So I didn’t finish my food at all. Waiting once again for I can tell her I just want the bill because she was paying me any attention. Added $3 more to my bill for no reason and couldn’t give an excuse even tried to lie about it until I showed her the price. Once I paid and left, I felt super sick as throwing up everywhere. Me living in Monticello, it was a rough ride back home. But not thinking it was the tacos, my husband ate his food and my kids ate the rest of mine because I didn’t won’t it and just wanted to lay down. Everyone else was sick as well. My husband 3year old and 5 year old son’s was sick. I’m not sure what, why or how but the tacos was definitely the problem being that I didn’t eat anything else that day other then that one taco and got sick then to take up to my husband and kids sick. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY 😡

Let me first off start by saying, Mas has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area; I also understand they are experiencing growing pains during their construction and increased capacity; I am also a huge proponent of supporting locally owned businesses, I understand construction, I understand COVID 19 and staffing shortages, with that being said: We visited Mas on Tuesday which is usually and understandably so a busier night; I expected that. During the construction we have been there several times, all of the times our time for seating, time waiting for chips, time for waiting to be asked for drinks, bar service time, time for ordering food or requesting refills and finally the time for food arrival have all been increased. I loved Mas so much we took that aside and repeatedly gave second and third and finally a fourth chance. This day we arrived at about 6:30 PM, the reception desk had three and sometimes four very confused and lost souls standing at the counter that were scrambling to give the appearance they were doing something, what I am not sure; secondly, we were told a 30 minute wait for a table, yet you look around at the number of tables that were empty and full of dirty dishes, yet we had four people standing at the front counter; we went to the bar area to wait. We tried in vain to get the attention of the bartender to order drinks while we waited, some of our party attempted to order large margs, but could not because they were out of glasses; trying to get the attention of the very; we were finally seated a little after 7:15 so not too far off timing; we sat, thankfully with our margs we got from the bar and sat, and sat; there were chips and salsa on the table when we were seated which was nice; we finished our margs and wished to order more, finally a waiter came and greeted us, we ordered our drinks and told him we were ready to order food, he stated he would be back.....and so the chips emptied faster, then we attempted to get the attention of someone walking by for more chips, then our waiter came by and said "he put the order in for more", which we did get a bit later, finally we get to order our food; nothing too complicated mostly the taco special (beef only bc somehow they ran out of chicken on Taco Tuesday, but perhaps their delivery truck didn't some, no explanation was offered); we then finished round 2 of margs and chips and waited and waited and waited for our food. Finally 2 of the 5 entrees came out; then another 10ish mins the other three came out; one would expect that since it was edging towards 8:45 PM at this point and the food took so so long that it would be piping hot....it was not, my food was cool to the touch; others crunchy taco shells were soggy and falling apart making it difficult to pick up; the one thing that did happen quickly as we finished our food is our check came and he quickly collected our card; no explanation was given; no apology; no sorry for the delay...nothing; and the attitude of the owner/manager was the same if not worse; she was either uninterested or simply did not care about how long this table had been here that she walked by many, many, many times. We left the restaurant at almost 9:30 PM, and yes that means we were there nearly 3 hours, We did not ask for a discount nor would we, that is not how we roll; we attempted to be as patient as we could, as we have 3 previous times with very similar experiences; sadly, because I loved their food and drinks; this will be the last time we will visit Mas. I wish them the best and hope that when they are done with construction things will improve and they can then work on their operational process. And yes - we tipped above the normal because that is how the servers make...
